Time as a vampire really does move incredibly slow. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to last eternity like this. It's been a month stuck like this and my days have been very routine. I can't really leave the house unless it's to feed or explore the woods on the Cullen territory. I do online school at Rosalie's request with the help of Emmett. Bella is graduating high school soon so I'm hoping I will be able to attend the ceremony. I'm just nervous for the rest of the school to see me as well as my dad. He calls here everyday and I assure him that it's necessary for me to stay here. He was pissed at me for never returning home after my birthday weekend but Carlisle is very convincing.
I'm still ignoring Embry but I promised Paul I would go see him soon. I was promised that I wouldn't get attacked by any werewolves if I went over to Emily's so I agreed to come over. Rose seems worried about the idea of me going over there but I have to face them eventually.
I decided to drive over to Emily's to appear at least somewhat normal. It didn't take me long to get there as I took Rosalie's car and it went much faster than the truck I shared with Bella.
As soon as I opened my door, the pack starts to make there way onto the front porch.
"Maggie!" Seth cheers to me.
"If it's not the newest leech," Jared says with a grin.
"Vampire Maggie finally decided to show up," Quil says.
"We see more of your sister than we do you," Paul says.
"Yeah yeah, guys. I've missed you all too," I say, walking towards them.
Sam smiles at me, "welcome back, Mags."
"Thank you, alpha. I'm sorry i've been avoiding you guys. I just can't believe this happened to me," I explain.
"We are just happy you are okay," Leah says giving me a small nod.
I nod back to her and look at Embry who is standing behind the rest of the pack with his arms crossed over his chest.
"Let's go," Sam orders the pack to head inside.
Once they are all inside, it's just Embry and I staring at each other.
"Hi Em," I say softly, pulling on my sleeves nervously.
"Hi is all you have to say to me?"
"I'm sorry," I add quickly.
He shakes his head, "I hate that I can't even be mad at you because I did the exact same thing when I shifted."
"Just be mad at me, I can handle it."
"I know you can, you're like a whole different person now," He states.
"I'm still me."
"I'm just so confused. My heart wants me to kiss you but my instincts are telling me to keep my distance."
