The pain has finally stopped. I stay still for a moment, trying to hear my surrounding. I hear Rosalie and Emmett talking lowly. Alice and Jasper are upstairs and Esme is in the kitchen.
I open my eyes and I can see literally everything 100x better than before.
"Rose?" I finally use my voice. I sound different too, my voice sounds smoother than before.
Rose and Emmett are in front of me in a second and I sigh gratefully to have them here.
"What happened?" I ask.
"Victoria bit you and Embry couldn't get you to Carlisle quick enough," Rose explains.
"Is Embry okay? Juliet and Rem?"
"They are all fine, you can see them soon. First, we need to get you fed."
My hand reaches to my throat instinctively and I feel the burn. I nod in agreement. I look down and see that my clothes have been changed and my hair feels curled. I look up at Rose curiously.
"Alice insisted you look your best for your first day of being a vampire," She answers my unspoken question.
"Cmon, i'll take you hunting," Emmett says, throwing an arm around my shoulder. I let him lead me out of the house and we race through the woods.
"Listen closely," Emmett tells me.
I nod and listen to my surroundings. I hear a deer towards my right and make my way towards it. It takes me no time to suck the blood from the deer and my thirst is controlled.
"You're a natural," Emmett says, looking amused.
"I want to see Embry," I state.
"I promise you can see him soon. Are you feeling okay?"
"I'm pissed. My entire future with him is gone."
"I don't think it's gone, I think it's just changed."
"Does he even want me anymore?" I shout. I was Embry's enemy now, would the imprint bond stay? Maybe he'll have to imprint on someone else now.
"Let's just go back so we can talk to Rose," Emmett says, pulling me into his arms.
I stand there for a moment before giving in and deciding I did need that comfort. It was weird that he's no longer hard and freezing under my touch. His skin is the same temperature as mine and he's soft now. I hug him tighter, the comfort being exactly what I needed to calm down. He pulls away from me and holds my hand as we walk back to the house. Rose is waiting for us on the back porch when we arrive. I run straight for her, not realizing how strong I am when my body collides with hers. She wraps her arms around my waist to keep me from falling back.
"You're really strong, Mags. You gotta be careful with us," Rose laughs.
"I'm sorry!" I say before laughing too. I look back at Emmett and smirk, "does that mean I can kick your ass?"
