"Is this even safe?" I ask Embry for the hundredth time as he has Sammy sitting on his lap while we are driving back home.
"Of course it's safe," He answers for the hundredth time.
I sigh but try to enjoy the moment. Sammy seems to be having a blast as she helps drive the car.
Embry tries to grab my hand, "no, both hands on the wheel."
He groans and places his hand back on the wheel.
"We have to start thinking about christmas for her," I tell him.
"What about it?" He asks, confused.
"Do we want to start any traditions?" I ask him.
"We could watch a christmas movie and give her one gift on christmas eve," He suggests.
"I like that idea," I agree.
"What does my beautiful wife want for christmas this year?" He asks me with a grin.
"A kitten," I tease.
"A kitten in a house with a werewolf? Interesting combo," He says, laughing.
"Hush," I say, laughing along with him.
"I will consider the kitten," He agrees.
"Good."
He pulls into the driveway of our small cottage and parks the car. I let him carry Sammy into the house as I grab her bags from the back. We have finally brought her home from my dad's house until the meeting with the vultori. Christmas is almost here and I want to spend as much time with these two as possible.
I follow after the two who are laughing contagiously. I go to Sammy's room to put away her items from her bags.
"Mummy!" Sammy yells to me.
"Sammy!" I yell back.
"Can we order pizza? Daddy is hungry!" She yells, running into her bedroom.
"Did daddy tell you to ask me?" I ask, picking her up.
"Um, no," She says, her face turning red.
"Is someone lying?" I ask, tickling her,
She laughs, "Yes!"
"Awe! You can't lie to mummy," I tell her as I continue tickling her.
"It's daddy's fault!" She squeals.
"Hey, tattletale!" Embry says, walking into the room.
"Do you want tickled too?" I threaten him.
"Id love to see you try," He says, smirking.
I set Sammy down on the ground and grin at her, "attack daddy!"
She squeals and begins to run away Embry as he races out of the room. I follow after them which leads us to the living room. Embry picks up Sammy and gently throws her down on the couch. I jump on his back and begin tickling his sides. He laughs, trying to get me off of him.
"I give up!" He says, laughing harder.
I get off of his back and smirk, "I am human no longer, I can finally beat you!"
"You're such a cheater," He says, laying on the couch beside Sammy.
"I am not," I state, hitting him with a throw pillow.
"Rude," He says, grabbing the pillow from my hands and hitting me back with it.
"No hitting!" Sammy yells at us.
"You're right, I'm sorry," I tell her, sitting on the other side of her.
"Daddy, you say sorry too," She tells him.
"I'm sorry," Embry agrees, pressing a kiss to the side of her head.
I grab my phone from my pocket to order the pizza, a large pepperoni pizza.
"Make it two pizzas," Embry tells me.
I giggle and change the order to two large pizzas instead of one.
We end up spending the rest of the night watching Home Alone and eating pizza. Sammy loves the movie, she thinks Kevin is the coolest kid.
Embry goes to put Sammy down for bed so I take the opportunity to quickly clean up the house. I use my vampire speed which doesn't feel very fast to me but I got the house cleaned in under five minutes.
I throw my hair into a ponytail and change into one of Embry's t-shirt's. I slip into our cozy bed and close my eyes as if I could actually sleep. Embry gets under the covers beside me and kisses the top of my head.
"Sam told me that Alice and Jasper left with a note to the family," Embry tells me.
"You're just now telling me this?" I ask him.
"I didn't want to ruin our night," He says honestly.
I sigh, "I'll have to check on everyone in the morning."
"Someone will call you if there's an update," He tells me.
"I know, I just don't understand why Alice left us," I tell him.
"Maybe she's following a lead?" He suggests.
"Why wouldn't she just tell us then?" I ask him.
He shrugs, "I have no idea, she just said to gather as much people as possible."
"We need so many witnesses just for Aro to even consider hearing us out," I say, covering my face with my hands.
"I know," He says, grabbing my wrists to move my hands down.
"I'm so scared about the future," I whisper.
"I promise everything is going to be okay," He says, kissing both of my hands then my lips.
I kiss him back, putting all of my emotions into it. All the stress, hopelessness, and worries go into this kiss and fade away. His kiss is enough for all of it to go away. He's all I focus on as I wrap my arm around his neck to press my body closer to his.
We kiss for a moment longer until little feet interrupt us.
"There's a monster in my room!" Sammy squeals.
"No way!" Embry squeals back which makes me laugh.
"Stop laughing! I'm serious," She says, crossing her arms over her chest.
"Alright, I'll check it out. Stay here with mum," Embry says, getting up and setting Sammy on the bed with me.
Sammy lays on my stomach with her head on my chest. She's definitely sleeping here tonight, no doubt about it.
Embry returns a few moments later, "the monster has been killed!"
"Can I sleep with you guys anyway?" Sammy asks, gripping onto the stuffed wolf she brought with her.
"I suppose so," Embry says, getting back into bed.
Sammy giggles, "can we watch spongebob?"
"Of course," I answer her, flipping on the correct network.
AUTHORS NOTE
This was mostly a filler chapter but I thought it was cute. There's only going to be a few chapters left BUT I was thinking about starting a second story for this book. It would be Sammy's point of view when she gets older, would you guys be interested in that?
