Monza - {Lando Norris}

Chapter 10

After a couple minutes of Lando scrolling through his phone, the silent room is then filled with his voice "Sorry, had to do a couple things there. Do you wanna do something or we can just sit here and talk?" He fixes himself on the bed to where he is propping himself up on his elbows "We could walk and talk at the same time, you can show me around if you want?" He jumps up off the bed and ties up his shoes before grabbing his jacket and throwing it around his body "You coming then?" I smile and nod my head " Let's go, I'll show you the garage and we could possibly see some of the other drivers, you need to meet Daniel, he's my teammate" I look towards my bag sitting on the bed "You can leave it here, it will be safe, no one comes in here" I grab my phone from the bag and then zip it up and move it so it's properly sitting on the bed "Also a gucci handbag, who spoilt you?" I smirk as he pushes the door open and we're greeted by a couple other McLaren members "Me. I spoilt myself" Lando waves over to the handful of people standing around "Nice to know you treat yourself but keep in mind that I can spoil you 1000 times better if I want" I feel my cheeks heat up and I feel the need to hide myself "I'll keep that in mind" We walk down the stairs and finally out to the warm air, I didn't really need to bring a jacket as the weather is stunning, I'm glad I left my jacket back in the room instead of having to pointlessly carry it around with me. When we begin to walk through the mob of people, multiple people stop Lando to talk to him and I hide myself in with the crowd instead of getting silly questions and then I begin to walk again once Lando is done. After a while we finally arrive at the garage where there's a couple of people standing around just chatting and then some of them are looking at the car "So this is the garage,it's nothing special. It's mostly technical stuff here. Mostly get told all the information here before I go out for a run or before the race, it's really boring if I'm honest." I nod my head as he keeps walking towards the garage "I'll show you the car" He walks up towards it and looks intensely at it, he talks me through everything and explains how it works, I find myself actually being interested in it all, he explains everything perfectly and I don't find myself being confused about anything "Also, I sorta got confused so free practice doesn't start until 5pm. I just had to be here for 2pm for some reason. Sorry for making you come this early but it does mean we can hang out for longer. If you want I had planned to do a track walk today if you wanna join in? Understand if you don't, I'll walk you back to my room" I look out to the blistering hot day and think about it, would I rather sit in a room by myself for a while or hang out with Lando? "Will it just be me and you?" He rubs the back of his neck "Well, some of the engineers will be there but we can either walk ahead of them or behind them, we don't necessarily have to walk alongside them, but I will have to talk to them every now and again" I nod my head slowly "Yeah, I think I'll come along with you" His face quickly fills with a big grin "Ok, I have one thing to do before we set off and then we will go" He runs off to the back of the garage as I take in the experience and feel a smile coming onto my face also.

"So Sofia, tell me a bit about yourself" Lando speaks up as we walk along the track, his engineers quite far ahead of us "So I'm originally from Monza, my parents and I moved to London a couple years ago since my dad got offered a job over there, he's a software architect and my mum doesn't work. I came back here after I got offered the job in the hotel, I've basically known Giuseppe my whole life, him and my dad were best friends so that's how I got the job. Giuseppe always messed around with me when I was younger saying he was going to give me a job there but to think it actually happened was kind of mad to me. My birthday is 18th October  so I'm a libra, the best zodiac sign ever, ummm.... I love fashion, I love buying myself new clothes." He listens on as we continue our walk and every now and again Lando will stop at a corner and stare onwards "What do you want to do with yourself though? Do you want to be stuck in the hotel for the rest of your life?" The silence seems to surround us and it seems as if everything pauses for a second "I'm sorry if that question came across rude, I'm just wondering" His voice is soft and quiet "No, it's ok. I'm not really sure if I'm honest. Before I was offered the job my plan was to travel the world but my mum put a stop to that plan, she didn't want me doing it by myself, stuff about me being a young girl travelling by myself will attract weirdos so here I am. I still want to travel the world even if it's just some of it, I don't expect to be able to go everywhere" Lando messes around with one of the bracelets sitting on his arm "You could still do it Sofia, you're still very young. I wanted to travel the world when I was younger too and I'm getting to do it" I scoff as his eyes meet mine "Yeah, you get paid to do it, it's a lot harder for me to be able to do something like that, I have been saving for it but it's just hard with the likes of work, if I leave they're basically fucked. We haven't been able to keep any good receptionist recently and it's all thrown onto me to clean up the mess." We're about halfway into the track and the air is fresh and calming "I mean, we could travel the world together or even half of it like you said..." He sucks his bottom lip into his teeth as I look on in confusion "I do know it's early and everything and I'm not saying I properly like you or anything Sofia, I don't know about you but I feel as if something could come from this if we were to try and I'm not saying that we're going to start trying for a relationship right now but I would like to see where this goes" My mind has 1000000 million thoughts running through it and I stutter to even speak as I notice that we've both stopped walking and we're just facing each other, we literally met the other day and as much as I agree with what he said I don't know how it would work, I find the courage as I finally feel able to speak again "I do agree Lando, we only met the other day but this does feel strange. I already feel comfortable with you and would also like to see how it works out but at the same time I can't see how it would work, you travel constantly and I'll be here. We would never have time for each other" Lando goes to say something but stops himself, he rubs in between his eyebrows "Quit your job" He abruptly speaks.
