A couple weeks had past and Sofia was not her usual self and for good reasons, her phone had sat on the bedside table dead for a couple of days now, she had the charger for it since Daniel had brought it along with him when he came to visit but she had no energy to even do the smallest thing. She remained in the seat most of the time even though the nurse has reprimanded her multiple times that she needs her own rest but Sofia won't let her eyes close, she fights the tiredness until her body shuts down on her, she felt stuck to the seat as if there was a layer on super glue on it, her body wouldn't allow her to get up. Cisca and Adam have also now begun to try get Sofia to leave the hospital room to get some air but she's determined to stay with him, telling them both that the air coming from the slightly opened window is good enough, Daniel had also told her to leave the hospital as she looked like she was to faint any second, her skin now pale as the white walls of the hospital along with the dark circles around her eyes, her hair barely being brushed didn't help the situation either. Her usual happy self was deep buried in her mind now, feeling lost without Lando by her side, she had lost herself completely, feeling hopeless as every day dragged on and there was still no good news about Lando's condition. She had finished all the criss-cross books and had nothing to occupy her thoughts, nothing to distract her from the eerie silence in the room, she had no energy to go buy some more. Sofia tried to tell herself to stay strong for Lando but as time went by she found it harder and harder, she felt there was no positive outcome from this, Lando still laying on the bed, not a movement from him, nothing to give anyone hope for him but Sofia still held onto the little hope that she could, she didn't want to think of the worst. Sofia knew Lando would be so disappointed in her for just sitting around not taking care of herself but she didn't care, she knew he would understand the reasoning for it, she pulled herself up out of the seat as Lando's chest raises up and down in a rhythmic manner, she dragged herself over to the window and quietly pushed it open, Sofia scoffs at herself at the thought of her doing everything quietly the last couple days as if Lando was just sleeping, she could probably jump up and down on the bed and he still wouldn't awaken from what she calls his deep slumber. The United States Grand Prix had just happened as she kept up to date with it on her phone, the next one was Mexico, Sofia knew that Lando would be upset at missing these races but hopefully he will know how much he's missed, Daniel wore a helmet to the US GP dedicated to Lando as well as all the mechanics wearing race suits with Lando's number and face on them, he had so many people praying for him, I mentally noted to thank them all for their support and especially for Zak who continued to come to the hospital at every chance he could, obviously it's been harder since he had to travel to Austin, he still blew her phone up wanting regular updates on Lando. Sofia stayed at the window for a couple minutes as she watched all the cars on the road and then some people walking on the pavement, her eyes stopped on an young couple holding hands as they smiled and laughed with each other, Sofia couldn't help but feel envious of them, her and Lando should be enjoying themselves whether that be them staying in a hotel room watching Netflix with snacks or out on a date, her body shivers at the thought and she shakes her head before walking back over to the chair where she'll stay for the rest of the night watching Lando, never taking her eyes off him once. She checks the time and sees it reads the usual time that she usually receives a message from Zak, she plugs her phone into the charger, the first time it had been charged in a couple of days, it doesn't take long for the Apple logo to pop up on the black screen before it finally turns on, Sofia attempted to open her phone but the amount of missed messages and phone calls that pop up on her screen stop her from being able to do anything, she sighs at the sight of it all as she knows now she'll have to reply, Sofia knows deep down it's unfair of her to not reply to people wanting to know how Lando is but she's just been so mentally and physically drained the last couple days so therefore it was the last thing on her mind.
She had longed for Lando's touch for days now, Sofia was beginning to get sick of simply just placing her hand on top of his lifeless one, she needed to talk to him, the silence was beginning to drive her mad, the only people she really spoke to was the doctor's. Unfortunately Adam and Cisca had to fly back to London for a meeting relating to Adam's company, Cisca had wanted to stay here but for some reason Adam had talked her out of the decision so they were visiting this evening before flying back to London this evening, Sofia knew she would have to clean herself up and make it look as if she's been taking care of herself. She finally replied to all the important messages updating everyone on Lando's condition before she went onto the instagram for the first time in a couple days, she had over a 100 DM'S and as she swiped over to look at them it was all just about Lando, the fans knew nothing, they had just seen the crash and heard nothing more about it, Sofia mentally fought herself to let the fans know but that wasn't her decision, Adam and Cisca had said they don't want to make this public and they would put out a statement once his condition improves. Sofia felt awful about keeping his fans in the dark and she had hoped they wouldn't hate her for it, hopefully they would understand. She set her phone over on the side again as the male nurse walked in with the usual tray of food "You haven't ate today again Sofia..." The disappointment tone of his voice wasn't subtle and at this point they were beginning to treat Sofia like a patient as well, he walks over to her and holds the tray out for Sofia to take it, sitting on it was a warm coffee along with a bottle of cold refreshing water and a panini of some sort with a handful of crisps as the side "Here you go" Sofia could hear the remorse in his voice as the nurse just wanted her to be well, Sofia reached up and politely took the tray from the nurse's hands before sitting it on the bedside table "You need sleep.. I can also tell by simply looking at you that you're incredibly dehydrated" Sofia can't find the words to reply back as she just looks up at him and attempts to smile, the nurse walks closer to her as he places his hand on the back of the chair, he glances at Lando "He's improving, I know it might not look like that to you but he is" Sofia felt happiness for the first time in days at the words as she kept her gaze on Lando "What do you mean? How do you know?" She felt like she could scream with joy but she knew it was too early for that, Lando still hadn't awaken yet but the words gave her hope for that "I came in earlier this morning, you were sleeping. I was told to do a check so I did... when it came to shining the light in his eyes, his eyes moved... they followed the light. I went and told the doctor in charge and then she came and did the same and it happened again... so there's some hope for you. Start taking care of yourself now before you end up in a bed" His tone was strict and Sofia knew he meant well, a small smile filled her face as she looked up at the nurse who gave her a brief smile before walking over to the door and pulling it open, he began to walk out of the room before turning around again "Eat your food" The nurse let out a small laugh before closing the door behind him and Sofia happily dug into her meal as she sunk her cup of coffee which will do no good for her, probably keeping her up much later, she had told herself that she was to actually sleep on the sofa bed tonight and attempt to get as much rest as she can. She set the empty plate back onto the tray along with the cup of coffee before taking the bottle of water into her hand and taking a couple of sips from it, the water refreshing her dry throat as she looks at Lando with a hint of happiness in her eyes as the nurse's words have given her the much needed hope she needed to keep herself sane.
