Y/n pov

"You can't be serious" Clint says and breaks the long silence.

"I am, because i can't imagine a world where i can't live with Y/n. I never want to go to her funeral, or have her go to mine" she explains but they're quiet. "Look, i know you guys don't like it, but in the end it's my choice and i don't care what you think" but she does and i can see it by the tear starting to form in the corner of her eye.

"I'm sorry, i can't support that" Steve says and it doesn't just break her heart, but mine as well. Because she'd become like me, a real monster. But since this i all going so fast, maybe it won't happen. The love of my life, the badass woman i know, is about to break apart at breakfast because her family can't accept her choice of life. She looks over at Clint and Wanda who can't even meet her gaze.

"I just can't believe this is what you want" Wanda says, finally looking up to her and then at me and the next words are only for me to hear. "Is it what she wants?"

"You know every reason why i don't want it, but as she said. In the end it's her choice"

"But it won't happen, because you think the time will be over by then?"

"It's not something i think, it's what i hope." i hadn't noticed how everyone could see the talking between us even though no one else actually heard it. I'm about to place my hand on Natasha's but she jerks it away. I feel the surge go through my body before she disappears into thin air. How every cell in my body resists the urge to just give up. If i hadn't learned how to control my body against its will, it would have sent me to the floor. All gazes are fixated on the now empty place next to me, and my hand that's wrapped around the table corner so hard that when i remove my hand, it leaves a mark.

"Where did she go?" Clint asks worriedly, still caring no matter what she wants. But i can't hear her, i can barely sense her. Maybe i should have told her that our magic is unstable at the moment, and that using it risks an overload that could level the entire state to the ground.

"I don't know" i breathe out and feel the questioning look on me. "But you guys should be ashamed of yourselves. She might say she doesn't care, but you're her family. She just wants to be happy"

"She doesn't know what she wants"

"Yes she does Steve, because i've been trying to talk her out of it for months now. We all know that if Natasha Romanoff has decided on something, nothing will change her mind" i get out of my chair, concentrating on standing straight. "She loves you guys, and what you just said, cut her deep"

"She's just confused, she'll grow out of it"

"Oh my gods Steve, are you really that short sighted?" Wanda snaps at him. They are all surprised to see her stand beside me even though we're talking about Natasha. But Wanda actually stands physically next to me, because she knows what that teleportation did to me. "This isn't like coming out, this is as much a life decision as getting married. But that train you jumped right on, but when she tells you she wants to be with Y/n literally forever, you turn your back"

"It's wrong"

"Wrong? It's wrong to want to spend eternity with the one you love, or is it wrong to become like Y/n? Tell me Steve, if you had the chance to go back to Peggy, would you take it?" Bucky ships in on our side.

"Of course i would"

"The consequences are the same as wanting to live forever. It's leaving the ones you care about behind to be with the one you love the most." he continues, leaning over the table seriously. "And Natasha would support you no matter what, so why can't you?"

"Go to her, i'll deal with them" Wanda says for my ears only and i just walk out. Wanda and Bucky can take care of them. Even though i know they aren't entirely on board with it, they care about Natasha. And doesn't want her to be alone. As i come up to our door, i first knock.

"Natasha?" i get a soft hum followed by sobs in response. "Are you okay?" no response and the door is locked. "Natasha?" i try to open the door again, but it's still locked. "Natasha, unlock the door honey, please" and i feel how the door relaxes, like someone moved against it, then the lock unlocks. I walk in to find her sitting on the floor next to the door, so i sit down next to her. "Моя луна и звезды? I love you, no matter what"

"I just wanted them to accept it and move on, i do care what they think" she rests her head against my shoulder as i put an arm around her.

"In a few decades, everyone you care about will be dead and it won't matter anymore"

"But not you" she adds with another sob and i stare out into the awakening city. "Because in the end, it's only us" oh how i wish i could believe in that.

Natasha pov

As we lay in bed i can't help but think about what i've learned, and what i'll get to learn in our eternity together. So i list them in my head as she sleeps next to me and the moon starts to rise outside the window.

1. People can do the wrong things for the right reasons - like leaving when i needed her the most because it was safest, but wrong for us both.

2. Sometimes people do mean things because they're hungry - in both humans and vampires.

3. Beware of who you invite inside your home - because even the devil has an angel's face.

4. Don't judge a person by their age but by their actions - because everyone deserves a second chance. And just because someone has lived a long life doesn't mean that they have a lot of wisdom to grant.

And the last one i think is the most important one. Especially with eternal life.

5. True love, never ever dies - just like ours.
