marc knows you're a mixed media artist- he's seen you work with charcoal, oil paint, pastels, photography, the whole shebang
he does NOT expect it when he walks in on you dancing
you've been on a martha graham kick, and you have a vision dammit.
liquid smooth by mitski plays through speakers in your impromptu dance studio- it's not exactly suited for dancing, but you shoved all your canvases and easels to the side and propped a mirror from the thrift store against the wall
innovation
there's a camera on a tripod filming you and marc doesn't want to disturb you, so he loiters in the doorway and watches
what he notices the most is how your body really feels and flows with the music. you have a poise about you that seems to come so naturally
(yes, he has noticed how fluidly you move in day to day life. a dancer moves like a dancer in any scenario, just like a fighter. he would know.)
he's never really been one to appreciate interpretive dance. sure, he's seen a ballet once- yes it was the nutcracker, and yes it was when he was shadowing a wealthy target, but that's beside the point
he appreciates it now
Marc watches you take the notes of the music and turn them into something he can physically see, and he's never felt so utterly shocked.
You only notice him once the music stops
He's watching you with this reserved smile, almost like he's proud of you, and it makes you blush like nothing else
"How long have you been there?" "A while." "How much did you see?" "Pretty much all of it."
You've never really been one to ask for feedback on something that was only meant for you, but you can't help yourself
"Did you like it?"
Marc doesn't say anything immediately, and your heart kind of sinks. He hasn't ever expressed an interest in art, really, not in the way that Steven has
(Steven always gushes about your art and how much he loves it. you've caught him flipping through your sketchbooks sometimes when he thinks you're not looking. you don't have the heart to get after him about it, bless him)
But Marc... yeah, he's a different story.
He surprises you, though.
"It was beautiful."
When you save the video file on your computer, Marc makes a duplicate of it.
You know. Just in case you lose it or something.
