"Dear God, why me? Why?" I asked myself shutting the door to the master bathroom. He was the definition of temptation. My Nana was right.
He had this way of forcing someone to give in to him without even forcing them. He can push me to the edge but never English to the point I can fall.
It was as if my life was designed in the palms of his hands, fit enough to the point he can crush me like a piece of paper and throw me out. But delicate enough to the point he doesn't drop me.
But those blue eyes remained the same, I'll never understand them, they never had a back story or a beginning and end.
His eyes hold no destination as if they didn't have a home. Their eyes were stolen; they were foreigners to human reactions.
This wasn't a regular cabin. The high callings and the dim lights brought comfort. But the class ceiling was breathtaking; it gave you a clear view of the night sky.
I struggled with sleeping but as I woke up I noticed Autumn was to be found in the bed. I jump out of bed and I look around the floor.
I know those two voices from anywhere. "Well good morning to both of you," I said as I entered the kitchen.
His gaze was alarmed; it was dark as if I just stabbed him in the back. Shit? Shit? What am I doing wrong?
"Sorry about wearing your clothes, I got too lazy to unpack," I said, rubbing her eyes. "It's okay," he said, looking me up and down.
Autumn starts to giggle "hey mommy, Mr.meaniepants doesn't know how to make pancakes." She said giggling as she ran to me.
"Hey baby, and is that so?" I said, turning my gaze down at my daughter as I kissed her forehead. "Thank you for letting us stay the night again," I said looking at him.
He just nods his head and walks out of the kitchen. "Come on baby, let's go brush our teeth and get ready for the day," I said, lacing our hands together.
"Wait, Mr.meaniepants," Autumn said, running after him as I did the same. "Thank you, for getting Mr.Moony back for me," as we reached him she hugged his left leg as he leaned down to meet her height.
Whatever he whispered in her ears had her running back to the master bedroom. Not wanting to be left alone with him I quickly ran after my daughter.
"What did he say?" I asked, wanting to be nosy. "Nothing, it was just a joke," she said, brushing her teeth while I used a warm cloth to wash her face.
"What was the joke?" She stops brushing her teeth to meet my gaze in the mirror. "Mom, you don't have to know the joke," her tone was defensive.
"Well sorry for asking," I state as I start to brush my teeth. After getting ready I head downstairs with Autumn on my back.
"You smell that?" Cupcake asked as she quickly jumped down and ran down the rest of the stairs. I finally made it to the kitchen I saw him flipping pancakes.
He was determined, he looked like he was on a mission or maybe he was forced to make them. He was wearing glasses and a fitted long sleeve black gym shirt.
The shirt hugged his body perfectly; it revealed his toned shoulders and his fitted muscles. Over his shoulder, he had a white tablecloth.
"You know you don't have to make us breakfast if you don't want to. It's not like we have a gun to your head," I reminded him.
"Mom let the guy make us some pancakes," Autumn whines as she looks up at me from her stool. "Okay," I said, throwing both of my hands in the air.
"C'mone Autumn let's give him some space," I said, reaching my hand out for her to grab. We laced our hands together as we walk around the house.
"This house is so cool," she says beaming as we look around the living room. It was cool but it needed a home feeling like pictures or something.
"Look ma, it's a large tablet." She said pointing to the touchscreen tablet that was on the walls. We took cute pictures of them doing silly things.
"I think it's voice-activated," I said as we reached a secret door. "Open door," Autumn said as the door did just that.
"What a pool," we screamed at the same time in excitement. The room wasn't big but it was big at the same time. We noticed it was a hallway to the right.
"No way he has a steam room," I said looking around the glasses room. It was beautiful. The inside was wooden and dark with dim lights.
"Okay we should get going before we invade any more of his things," I said looking down at cupcakes as she nodded her head.
As we walk back I notice a door with a golden handle. It called out to me. I walked over playing with the doorknob when I noticed it wasn't opening.
No other doors were locked in this house but this one. "Breakfast is ready," I jumped when I heard his voice. I turned around only to notice he was an inch away.
He was weird if you asked me and can come off odd, but that was only when he wasn't speaking his silence was like quiet violence happening in his mind.
"You shouldn't touch things that aren't yours," he said with a low tone. I looked everywhere but his eyes. "Yeah you're right, sorry for the snooping," I said looking down at my comfy house slides.
He doesn't say anything more; he just walks off as I and Autumn follow behind. It's still snowing and I don't know how badly my car was wrecked but I needed to leave this place fast.
