"How to study human emotions?" Zayn asked as he pick up one of the books in my office. I quickly slapped it off his hands and placed it where I felt best, and that was on top of the other books.
"Smart people are always reading," my cousin Zion added. He wasn't so intelligent he didn't even understand the beauty of literature.
"Zion you don't have to be smart to read," I informed him as I kept my eyes on the page I was reading. "But I can see why you aren't pleased when it comes to picking up a book. I mean your mother would choose a quick fix that satisfied her for a while then you and your brother." I spoke lightly as I turned the page.
I hear a loud sigh and hiss under one of their breaths. "What the fuck is your problem Kaz," Zion spoke before I was subsided by his fist.
The hit was so hard that I didn't see it coming and wasn't prepared for it. My chair moved with my body. "What? I said wrong it's the truth," I said, picking my body up from the cold gray marble floor.
My nose was bleeding as my little brother passed me a tissue. "Everything was wrong with what you said, that was a low blow," my brother said, shaking his head.
"Well then I apologize," my tone was anything but the truth. Zion's jaw clenched at my apology, I guess growing up with me he got used to my lame apology.
"Whatever you don't see me walking around saying your parents would've chosen a different kid than one who's sick in the fucking head," his tone was cold it was digging into my sick.
His smirk threw me off but that wasn't who I was. He wanted to hurt me as I hurt him and I wasn't going to give him that satisfaction.
"Hey, our mother tried," Zayn said, stepping in.
"Whatever,"
Zion said waving us off as he took a seat. "Why are you reading this type of book? I mean I can picture you changing for someone else," Zion says adding his dumb two cents in.
"I read somewhere, it's not healthy to change for someone else," my brother added while messing with the other books on my desk.
I pick my head up giving them a blank stare theirs no way these two impactable idiots read any books in their free time.
"You reading? Who's the smart lady that told you?" I asked my brother as he laughed, throwing his head back.
"Summer did actually, I used to complain about my dating life and follow her around the hospital and she used to give me advice. The sad part was she never took her advice," my brother spoke softly whenever he motioned her name he felt protective when it came to her.
He did have the highest respect for her anyone would if they spent any minutes with her. She affected anybody.
"What else she teach you?" I asked I was intrigued by this conversation. If I can understand how she viewed relationships then I get a better insight into her.
