The Music Freaks: Episode 10

Chapter 9 ~ One Week Left

Jake skipped lunch, immediately going to the music room, this time he was actually the first one there. He sighed, at least hoping one person would be there, well anyone except Zander. Soon enough, Milly and Hailey came, talking to each other, glancing up at Jake before continue their conversation. Luke came, then Sean, both giving him looks, basically saying that they were still deciding. But Zander hasn't came yet, which was confusing as he was either always here or always came shortly after. To be honest, he didn't really mind, considering the fact that Zander despised him. But it did feel weird, and if they were to practice, they needed Zander. "Alright guys, we only have a week left, so we need to start practicing a lot, so I've decided, and gotten permission, we can practice at lunch and after school as well." Hailey said, smiling slightly. "Well that's good." Sean said. "We'll be prepared for this, were gonna rock the competition!" Milly said, smiling happily, which was nicer to see then her usual sadder mood he had seen in the past couple of days.

"Where's Zander?" Luke asked. "Huh, I thought you would know." Milly said, which was true, Luke always knew where Zander was, for obvious reasons. So it was weird when Luke didn't know. "I think I saw him in a classroom when I was walking here, so maybe he got lunch detention." Sean suggested. "Perhaps." Hailey added, Jake not speaking but thinking himself. "How are supposed to practice without Zander?" Luke asked. "It's only Zander, plus he'll be able to do it after school, it's only one practice." Hailey told Luke. "I guess we can do that." Milly said. They all then got in their places like usual and began to play, but it was obvious it was different without Zander's piano. But they got used to it, and played like usual as Jake continued to sing his heart out, as Hailey told him, like usual. He was happy like always when he sung, seeming to zone out and continue to sing even when everyone was done playing. But since he was in the moment, they just decided to continue playing as he kept singing.

After practicing for their limited time, Jake was first to leave, which Hailey found odd since he didn't usually leave first. What Jake was actually doing was he was trying to find Zander, finding the room he was in and waiting outside until he walked out. Zander saw him in the corner of his eye, and stared at him. "What do you want?" Zander asked, in his usual cold tone which he had been using to Jake. "You missed practice." Jake said. "I know, I'm not stupid." Zander quickly responded. "I was just saying, we have practice again after school." Jake said. "Once again, I know, I discussed it with Hailey." Zander said, before turning around and walking away. Jake didn't bother following him, he really wanted to regain Zander's trust, just like he wanted to regain all their trusts, hopefully before the competition and before he gets kicked out. "Hey Jake, are you okay?" A voice asked from behind, Jake turning around to see Daisy, smiling at her. "Oh, hi Daisy! Yeah, I'm fine, are you?" Jake asked. "Well that's good, I am good as well. I know you said your back in music club, but I've seen you with them and you guys don't look too happy together, I even overheard you and Zander arguing." Daisy told Jake.

"It's nothing, Daisy, just some problems." Jake said, not wanting to tell her what he said, that he was kicked out and invited back but he wasn't friends with them. To her, he just left randomly and then joined again. "Do you want to talk about it?" Daisy asked. "Not really, I'm fine though, really!" Jake said, giving Daisy a reassuring smile, causing her to smile back at him. "Well, I have to get to lesson. I'll talk to you later, Daisy!"! Jake said, keeping his smile. "Alright, I can't wait to see you in the competition, Jake!" Daisy said, smiling at him. This made Jake more happy but more nervous, he was originally only doing this for Daisy, and now he wasn't, but he still couldn't wait for her to see him on stage. After the rest of his lessons, Jake made his way to the music room, surprisingly being the last person there this time. "Alright, now that Jake's here, we can practice." Sean said, smiling at him slightly. They then practiced like usual, it was actually calm for the most part. That was until when they were finished. "Well, I gotta go." Jake said. "Bye." He said. "You can go, you don't have to tell everyone." Zander said, Jake ignoring him because he didn't want to start a fight with him since he didn't wanna ruin the chances of him regaining his friendship with him and the rest of them.

Jake had to get home fast because of yesterday's events, he was grounded. On his way home, he saw Drew, Henry, Liam, Zoey and Lia all speaking, it looked like Drew was interrogating them, and well, he pretty much was. "One of you just admit it, who recorded Jake and sent it to the music freaks?" Drew asked, sounding pissed off since he had asked this question a 100 times before. "How do we know you didn't do it?" Liam asked. "Because I know I didn't, alright?" Drew said. "But we don't know you didn't." Henry added. "I DIDN'T RECORD HIM!" Drew yelled. "Look, one of you just admit it, alright?! And then Jake'll come back." Drew said. "But when he finds out who recorded him, he's gonna want to get revenge on that. Plus, he hates us, especially you." Liam told Drew. "I don't care, all I want is Jake back. I apologised to him earlier, and with a few more things, eventually...hopefully I'll have him back." Drew said, smiling slightly at the thought. All he wanted was Jake back, he was willing to do a lot to get Jake back.

When Jake got home, he was immediately sent to his room by his parents, not minding or caring as he was planning to go straight there anyway. He locked his door and put his phone on the side before playing video games. After a while of playing, he looked at his phone to see 3 messages:

Hailey:
Tomorrow, were all meeting up at the park, come if you want to, or don't, it's your choice

Sean:
Alright, after thinking of the situation and what you told me and Luke, I believe you Jake

Luke:
Jake, after what you told me, I want to believe you, but I'll need more proof before I fully can
