Hailey:
jake.....let's talk...

Jake clicked on the notification, being bought to the dm's of him and Hailey. He stared at the message, unclear on how to respond. Deep down, he was really happy, just being messaged by Hailey, but right now, he felt nervous as hell. Why was she messaging him? After what he said and that whole incident in general, he thought she would want nothing to do with him. He put his fingers above the keyboard, thinking of what to type, eventually, after calming his nerves mostly, he typed.

Jake:
Hey Hailey...I'm sorry

He didn't think of what else he could put, all he wanted to say, was sorry to her.

Hailey:
.....just me at school tomorrow

He sighed, seeing how she basically ignored him.

Jake:
Alright

Jake then turned his phone off and put it down, this was good, right? She wanted to actually talk to him, was she inviting him back to the club? No, she wouldn't, even he knew that. He decided to ignore the thought, he'd find out tomorrow. Until five minutes later, when he decided he needed to think about this a lot, thinking of all of the things that could happen. Eventually, he found himself falling asleep while thinking, and because of that, it followed him into his dreams. But since half the thoughts were negative, it turned into a nightmare. What if they wanted to talk to him just to bully him like he did? No, Jake knew they wouldn't, they weren't jerks.

When Jake woke up, he realised he didn't have to get changed because he fell asleep in his usual clothing, so he quickly grabbed his phone and saw a message from Sean. Since he was the only one that didn't block him, it made him happy, although he hadn't checked if Hailey blocked him again.

Sean:
Hailey told me what's happening. I don't mind too much, but don't mess up with her again

He was originally confused, Hailey hadn't told him what she wanted. But the way Sean was saying it, it kinda sounded like she was indeed inviting him back. Why though? Wait, don't care, yeah, Jake didn't care. He was being invited back, that's all that mattered. But because Sean messaged him and no one else, maybe Sean was the only one Hailey told, and perhaps Luke? They were the calmest, it would be dangerous to tell Zander or Milly. He turned his phone off, his thoughts continuing as he got his stuff ready and went downstairs. After having breakfast, he left for school, excited to be honest. He wanted to know what Hailey wanted, and in general he was excited to just talk to her.

Once Jake arrived, he immediately walked to Hailey's locker, actually walking past Drew, Liam, Henry, Zoey and Lia, ignoring them although Drew stared at him as he walked by. When he got to the locker, he saw Hailey there, her looking at him when he arrived with a bland look. "...hey Jake..." Hailey said, looking back into her locker. "Hey Hailey." Jake said, wanting to smile at her but not because he knew it wasn't the moment to. "So, what did you want to talk about?" Jake asked Hailey. "Oh, yeah." Hailey said, sighing slightly. "Sean's probably already told you, but...I want you back in the club for the competition." She added, Jake's eyes widening and his mouth opening, confused and shocked.

"W-What?! R-Really?!" Jake asked, he felt so grateful, he was being invited back by the person that he originally insulted and got kicked out. "Yes, but, I said for the competition. I- I realised that we need you to sing, I'm too nervous to, and we've already worked too much with you. So, I'm giving you a chance to come back for the tournament, but after that, I'm kicking you back out." Hailey explained to Jake, him being kinda sad about it, but he was being invited back in, and still got to the competition, which was sorta good. "And Jake...don't think because I'm doing this, I'm friends with you...okay?" Hailey reminded him. Jake slowly nodded at her, he saw this coming, but after remembering what happened, he wasn't mad. It just made him more disappointed in himself, feeling bad for Hailey as it was obvious she was still affected.

They both heard running, choosing to ignore it since they were in a school and it could've been anyone, but they payed attention once the person running ran into Jake and pinned him against the locker, grabbing his jacket and lifting him up. Who was this? Zander. Wait, Zander could fight? Jake was surprised. "I TOLD YOU TO STAY AWAY FROM US! FROM HER!" Zander yelled at him. "Zander-!" Hailey tried to say. "WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO DO TO HER?!" Zander yelled at Jake. "I'm not doing anything!" Jake yelled back. "LIAR!" Zander yelled, he had gotten angrier since the incident and had gotten more protective of Hailey. Hailey grabbed onto Zander, him pushing her away, which caused him to immediately drop Jake and make sure Hailey was okay.

"Hailey, are you okay?! I'm sorry!" Zander said, Hailey smiling at Zander. "Zander, I'm fine, but thank you." She said, smiling to reassure to him. "Yeah, she's fine, now let me expla-" Jake said to Zander, putting his hand on his shoulder, which even he felt he shouldn't have done. Of course, Zander didn't like this, but what Jake and Hailey weren't expecting, Zander quickly turned around and threw a punch at Jake, hitting him straight on the face. Once again, Zander can punch?!?! Jake was shocked, quickly grabbing the side of his face he was punched. "Jake, are you okay?!" Hailey asked, Jake nodding, Zander confused. "Hailey, don't care for him, he's an asshole!" Zander yelled. "Zander, I'll talk to you later." Hailey told Zander, him sighing, nodding before looking at Jake. "I don't know what your planning, but I'm not letting you do it." Zander told Jake before leaving.

Once Zander left, Jake and Hailey looked up to see most people looking at them, it getting embarrassing. "....are you okay, Jake...?" Hailey asked, even she felt the same as Zander. She was confused why she cared. "Yeah, I'm fine, thanks for asking." Jake said, smiling slightly at Hailey, her looking away. "Good." She said. "Well, come to the room during lunch, and don't expect to be let in with open arms. Remember, your still not my friend, and probably not the rest, and Zander wants to kill you." Hailey told Jake before closing her locker and leaving. Jake waved slightly behind her, quickly putting his hand down, he then looked ahead and saw Drew staring at him, finding it weird so he looked away.

He then thought of the situation, he was being let back in, that's good! But then again, it's only for the competition, and the club mostly hates his guts. Jake didn't know how to feel about this, a part of him felt excited and happy, another part of him felt kinda sad, and then the final part of him was still disappointed. If he never said any of those things, he'd still be in the club, but he did, and he can't change the past. He just thought he should make the most of this and try and perhaps connect with them again, even if it doesn't get him to stay in the club, he didn't care, he just really wanted his friends back. Jake then walked away from Hailey's locker, the only thing on his mind was: How the hell can Zander punch that good?! How long has he been able to fight?! He was just confused, he always viewed Zander as someone who couldn't fight for some reason, but apparently he was wrong, crap.
