Chapter 15 ~ The Announcement

Wednesday, two days left til the competition, 6 more practices, them getting time to do their practice at lunch and after school on Friday before the competition. Jake had gotten to school, going to his locker to see Drew standing there. "Shit." He mumbled, walking away, deciding to go there when he left. But while walking, he bumped into Zander. "Huh- Jake!" Zander yelled, looking dead in his eyes. "Your dating Hailey!" He yelled. "Jesus, keep it down will you, you don't have to tell everyone." Jake said. "What...?" A voice said from behind, Jake looking at the person to see it was Drew. "Your dating...Hailey?" Drew asked. "Yeah, I am, so what Drew? Why do you care?" Jake asked, his tone being more pissed off because it was Drew. Jake left them both, not liking being in the middle of two people he didn't like. Well, he liked Zander, Zander just didn't like him. But he hated Drew.

Considering Drew was now with Zander, Jake went to his locker, opening it and putting his things inside. He then closed it, expecting to see either Drew or Zander like usual. But instead, he saw Liam. It was weird, Henry wasn't there, you would never see either of them by themselves. "Oh, hey." Jake said. He didn't hate either Liam or Henry, or Lia, he thanked Lia for exposing Zoey. "Sup, Jake. So, Drew was telling us about the situation last night on the group chat." Liam said, Jake had left the Jomies group chat, and Drew kicked out Zoey. So there was still Drew, Liam, Henry and Lia. "Oh, did he..." Jake sighed. "Look, I don't hate you for lying to him. He manipulated him, hell, me and Henry had a hand in that. But, Drew also admitted something else to us." Liam told Jake. "Huh, what was it?" Jake asked, before hearing his voice being called by Hailey, and since they were now dating, he deemed whatever she was about to say more important.

"Hey, Jake! Come here!" Hailey said. "Hey!" Jake yelled back. "Sorry, Liam. I'll talk to you later." Jake said before running off to Hailey, Liam sighing as he saw Drew walking towards him. "Hey." They both spoke to each other. "So, what do you need?" Jake asked Hailey once he arrived. "Heard you and Zander, it's kind of hard not to hear him, he keeps yelling. I'm pretty sure the whole club knows, but it's not like they care much." Hailey told Jake. "But remember, at practice we'll tell the club that your staying after the competition." She reminded him. "Yeah, once again, thank you Hailey. Thank you so much." Jake responded, smiling at Hailey, her smiling back. "Of course, Jake." Hailey replied. "Can't wait to see Zander lose his shit." Jake said, laughing slightly. "Well yeah, that'll happen. But like I said, I'm trying my best to get him to calm down and warm back up to you. I'll do it by the time we practice today, don't worry." Hailey told Jake, keeping that warm smile.

"Thanks Hailey, I appreciate it." Jake said, also keeping that warm smile. Although he was sceptical whether she could do it by lunch. "Well, we should probably get to lesson." Hailey said. "Oh, uh, yeah. Well, see you at practice." Jake said, still smiling, waving as Hailey walked off. "Bye!" Hailey said, still smiling as well, although Jake couldn't see it since she was turned around. Jake went on with his day, until his lesson before lunch, where he was sat next to Henry. He didn't mind this, since he didn't hate Henry or Liam, or Lia, he only hated Drew and Zoey. Although, mid way through the lesson, Henry turned to him. "Hey, so, Liam spoke to me about what happened, plus Drew told us last night." He whispered, Jake sighing. "Yeah, so what?" Jake whispered back. "Well, Liam didn't get to finish. Like he was saying, Drew also told us that he-" Henry began before their teacher interrupted them. "Henry! Stop speaking." Henry quickly nodded and went back to his work, deciding he would tell Jake when he knew the teacher wasn't looking.

After around ten minutes, the teacher was looking away and Henry took this as his grand moment to tell Jake. "Hey, Jake." Henry whispered, Jake looking at him before looking back at his work, nodding in response. "Alright so, Drew told us last night that he lo-" Henry began before looking up to see the teacher staring down at him. "U-Uh...hey sir." Henry said. "Go sit over there." The teacher said, pointing to a desk on the opposite side of the room. Henry nodding, sighing as he collected all his things and moved. Jake went back to doing his work, not really paying much attention to whatever Drew had told them, since he didn't care about Drew. So, anything he said, didn't really matter to him. For the rest of the lesson, nothing happened, he even quickly left the class before Henry could catch up to him. Jake ignored lunch, going straight to the music room, seeing Hailey there, it made a smile form on his face.
