Rose walked to her room, closed the door, and slumped down on her bed. She wondered why she had blushed...she had not seen her love in years, and she knew that her one love had fallen for another. She lied down in bed, still lost in thought. Slowly, she fell asleep....
A knock on the door woke Rose up. She quickly got out of bed and answered the door."Yes?" She opened the door, and to her surprise, it was Fili. "Fili, at your service," He gave her a grin. "I am sorry you never got a proper greeting." Rose felt a slight warmth crawl up her cheeks as Fili grabbed her hand and lightly kissed her knuckles. Fili noticed and chuckled. Rose pulled her hand away and cleared her throat. "Well...um...I presume that you are heir to the throne aside to your uncle...?" Fili nodded and smiled again."May I ask," He scratched his beard. "How old are you?" Rose gave him a puzzled look, but answered his question. "I am 1,112 years old. Not that old." She laughed at Fili's expression."I must be an old woman for you dwarves." Fili smirked. He was about to speak, but another knock came upon the door. Rose walked up to the door, surprised to find Thorin. The handsome dwarf looked past her and cleared his throat."Am I...interrupting something...?" Rose blushed and began to stutter. "W-what? Oh, no, no...we were just talking..." She gave Thorin a worried smile and a nervous laugh. She turned around to leave. "Very well...Rose?" Rose quickly turned around. "Yes?" Thorin motioned to Fili, who quickly walked out the door. Thorin turned to the elf. "May we talk?" Rose slowly nodded. "You are a skilled fighter, and I was wondering about this...would you like to join the company? Since you lived in Erebor when you were young, I thought you might want to help reclaim your homeland." Thorin said glumly. He looked at her, though, eagerly waiting for her answer. She stood up and looked down at the dwarf. "Of course. I promise to help reclaim Erebor and if I die trying, so be it." She looked at Thorin, who was curiously staring at her.
Rose decided to take a chance of admiring this dwarf. He was quite tall for a dwarf...his eyes were a dangerous shade of blue, his ink-black hair with strands of grey, showing age. Rose quickly cleared her throat. "Well, you should get rest. We are leaving tomorrow, right?" Thorin quickly stood up. "Yes, you are right."
Thorin walked out the door in a hurry, closed the door, and sighed. As he walked down to where the rest of the company was, they all stared at him. Balin walked towards Thorin. "What was that? Were you trying to attempt something with the lass?" Thorin brushed the comment aside. "No, we were talking, and she said that she would join the group."
