Thorin stared down at Rose, his heart feeling warmth, wanting to hold her in his arms. "Rose, you are not a burden, nor a tag along. You are one of us; you are a dwarf." He gave Rose a serious look, and she swore she saw the corner of Thorin's lips curve up for a second. She smiled at him, but pain began to rise in her again. She let out a cry and grasped her arm. Fili, who was sitting on a small rock, sprung up and took Rose in his arms. Gandalf put his hand on Thorin's shoulder. "Come on. She needs help."

The company struggled following the strange path, winding through the narrow crack. Bombur was constantly getting stuck, for he was to big to fit through the path, but later managed to go through. Rose felt light-headed, the pain was horrible. She tried to stay on her feet, and the wall kept rubbing against her wounds, which made everything worse. Earlier, she tripped and fell against the wall, tearing the cloth around the warg bite and ripping the wound open. After a while of crying out in pain, she had passed out, and Fili was now carrying her.

After a while, the company finally squeezed through the end of the passageway, finding themselves in an open area. Fili looked out at the valley in front of him. "Rose," he whispered, setting Rose on the ground. "Look." She laid there for a little bit, but her eyes slowly opened. At first, her vision was blurry, but then she saw it; home. She smiled a weak smile.

"R-Rivendell..." She sat up, flinching at the slight pain on her arm. Rose looked up at Fili, who gave her a sweet smile. "Were you carrying me?" Fili looked down a bit and blushed. "Yes, but I feared that no one else would have carried you..." Rose grabbed his hand. "Thank you, Fili."

After an argument between Thorin and Gandalf, the company made its way to Rivendell. Fili supported Rose, his arm around her waist and her arm over his shoulder. She was weak, but she was able to walk. When the dwarves got to the large bridge that lead to Rivendell, Rose grabbed onto Fili tighter because she feared that she might fall into the rushing waters below. "Do not worry," Fili whispered into Rose's ear. "I shall not let you fall."

The group got to the entrance, and they stopped at a large area, surrounded by elegant statues and long, windy stairs. Rose managed to fight the pain a stood up by herself. She limped towards Thorin, who gave her a small nod.

Rose's attention turned to the top of the large flight of stairs in front of them. A tall, black-haired elf glided down the stairs. Gandalf walked to the front of the group to greet the elf, and Rose recognized him right away. "Mithrandir." The elf gave Gandalf a smile. "Ah, Lindir!"

As the group suspiciously watched the elf, Thorin leaned towards Dwalin. "Stay sharp." Rose rolled her eyes a bit. "Thorin...I live here. Trust them, they will not harm you." Thorin turned to her. "I find it...different that a human lives amongst elves." Rose ignored him and looked at Lindir.

Lindir looked over Gandalf's shoulder and he noticed a certain elf. He and Rose locked eyes, and she gave him a smile. "Lindir!" He walked over to Rose and put his hands on her shoulders. "My, where have you gone?" He looked at her wounds, his eyes fills with worry. "What happened? Are you all right?" Rose shifted uncomfortably in his arms. "...Well, it is not normal for an elf maid-" Rose panicked. She was scared that Thorin would hear, so she quickly wrapped her arms around Lindir and hugged him. She brought her mouth to his ear. "Lindir, please," she whispered very quietly. "These dwarves despise elves; especially my kind; Mirkwood. Do not tell them that I am one. They might kill me." Lindir nodded in her shoulder. "Of course."

As they were locked in a long, unusual embrace, Fili watched in anger. He felt heat rising in his cheeks, for he was in love with Rose. He knew Thorin had feelings for her, but despised the thought of them together. Anyways, he stared at the elf as they pulled away from eachother, still smiling.

Rose limped back to the company while Lindir started to talk with Gandalf. "That took you a while..." Fili muttered as Rose stood next to him. Rose ignored his comment and listened to Gandalf and Lindir's conversation. She watched as Lindir shook his head. "My Lord Elrond is not here." Gandalf raised his eyebrows. "Not here? Where is he?" Before he could speak anymore, a loud, elvish horn was heard from the distance.

Rose looked over to her left and noticed a line of Elvish soldiers upon their horses trotting towards Rivendell, obviously coming back from an orc attack. The company noticed this, and they bunched up into a tight circle, Rose protected in the middle. "Ifridî bekâr!!" (Ready weapons!) Thorin shouted, holding out Orcist. "Hold ranks!"

As the company was in a circle, the Riders circled around the group, then stopped when they were surrounding the dwarves. The Elf leading the group unmounted his horse. Rose smiled, immediately recognizing the elvish face. "Father..."

Elrond sheathed his sword, and walked towards Gandalf. "Gandalf." He smiled as the wizard bowed. "Mellonín! Mo evínedh?" [My friend! Where have you been?] Both of Elrond and Rose's eyes met once Elrond answered Gandalf's question. He gave her a large smile as the elf walked towards his adopted daughter.
