"I told you." Rose gave Bofur a wink as he grumbled and tossed her a small bag of money. She smiled and turned to the running Bilbo. He sprinted towards them, yelling. "I SIGNED IT! WAIT!" She watched as Bilbo ran over to Balin and hand him the contract. The dwarf gave him a look as he pulled out some kind of magnifying glass out of one one his pockets and looked at the signature. "Hm...everything appears to be in order..." Balin folded up the contract and tucked it in one of his pockets. "Welcome, Master Baggins, to the company of Thorin Oakenshield!" The whole company cheered, and Bilbo gave out a small hmph in relief. Rose turned back around and looked forward. She heard a small grunt come from Thorin as he stopped his mount. "Get him a pony." Bilbo's eyes widened at the word pony. He had never ridden one before and was a bit scared of riding them. "No, no, no. That-That won't be necessary...Thank you, but I-I'm sure I can keep on foot..." Rose chuckled and rolled her eyes at Bilbo's poor excuse."You know, I even got as far as Frogmorton once, bu-" The hobbit's sentence was interrupted when he was suddenly lifted up in the air by Fili and Kili and was plopped down onto a pony. Bilbo awkwardly grasped onto the reins as his horse flicked its' head up and down. "Bilbo," Rose gave out a small laugh. "That pony is no mythical creature; it is fine! Do not be so scared!" She led her horse towards Bilbo's and she looked at him. He flinched when his pony gave out a whiny, making Rose shake her head. "Bilbo! Calm down." The hobbit looked up at Rose, giving her a smile. "Oh...sorry...I have never ridden a pony before." Rose laughed. "I can tell."
After a long day of complaints from Bilbo about how he had forgotten his handkerchief and other things, they finally made it to the camp. The company dismounted their ponies and gathered at the edge of a small cliff. They all settled down and Rose decided to go out and be alone in peace. She had enough spending time with grumbling dwarves. "Thorin," Rose caught a glimpse of a spark from where Gloin was making a fire. "I am going to go scout." Thorin shot a look at her. "Don't go to far. Orcs patrol these lands."
"You are not my father..." Rose mummured. She walked up to a large rock and climbed to the top, gazing at the stars. She let out a small sigh and played with her Mithril necklace, remembering the fun times she had had with Legolas.

Rose sprinted as fast as she could through the forest. She skidded past trees and ran faster when she heard footsteps behind her. After a while she slowed her pace, not hearing the footsteps anymore. She leaned down and rest her hands on her knees, catching her breath. She heard a twig snap, and before she knew it, someone tackled her.
"GOT YOU!" Legolas gave out a laugh as he jumped at Rose and rolled to the ground. "Legolas!" Rose's laughter filled the whole forest. "That was not fair!" She playfully shoved the blonde elf off of her and stood up. She began to pick twigs and leaves out of her long, fiery, red hair. She tugged at a small stick, making a large knot in her hair. "Oh, Legolas! Look what you have done. I am all dirty!" Legolas got up and caught a leaf that fell out of Goshallàn's hair. "Rose, stop being such an elleth. You act so girly!" Rose tried to get the stick out, but still remained unsuccessful. "Just to tell you, mellon nín, I am an elleth." She squeezed her eyes as she kept on attempting to pull out the stick. Legolas walked behind Rose and pulled her hands away from her hair. "Let me help you, Rose." Rose dropped her hands to her sides and let Legolas do the work. His quick and nimble hands quickly undid the knot and he carefully pulled her hair off of it. He stepped back. "Okay, I am done. Goheno nín...I should have not pushed you to the ground." Rose looked up at the sky and then back at Legolas. "Melàn nìn, we must get back. It is getting dark." She turned around to leave, but Legolas grabbed her wrist. "Wait," He spun her around so that she was facing him . Legolas reached up and tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear.."Now we can go." He gave her a smile. Rose quickly pulled Legolas in for a hug. This surprised Legolas for a moment, but he sank into the hug. Rose smiled and pulled out of the hug. "You are a loyal friend, Legolas."

A small rustle in the bushes disturbed Rose's thought. She spun her head around, only finding Fili walking slowly towards her. "Fili? What are you doing here? How did you find me?" Fili looked down at the ground and looked back at her. "I saw you climb out here and I followed you... Why are you here? We are going to eat." He walked over and sat next to Rose.
After a while, Rose quickly got up and walked towards Fili. He led her back to the campsite.
When they walked from the trees, Rose received 14 pairs of curious eyes. She hid behind Fili as they walked to the group. Thorin quickly looked up in relief that Rose was not hurt, but he was angry that they had been gone a long time. "Rose! Fili! Where have you been?" Dwalin gave out a smirk. "Our lad is trying to court the girl in secret, I see." Thorin felt his anger bubbling up inside of him. "What were you doing?!" Fili sat down next to his brother and looked down in shame. "Uncle, I wasn't trying to court her." Fili looked up at Thorin's angry face. "W-We were just-" "You were just what?!" Thorin stood up. "You know there could be an orc pack nearby! You could have gotten Rose in danger!" Rose quickly walked towards Fili and Kili, but Thorin stopped her. "No. Wait. What were you doing? You said you were scouting!" Rose froze in fear, but she did not show any weaknesses. She walked up to Thorin. "Thorin. I am sorry. I wanted time alone because of...my past. I have been through so much pain. I was going to tell you all, but..." Balin, who was next to Rose, put a hand on her shoulder. "But what? We had just listened to a story about Thorin, and we would be glad to hear another, lass." The group all sat down, eager to listen to her story. Even Thorin sat down, his fingers rubbing his temples. Rose awkwardly stood near the campfire, swallowing nervously. Her heart began to beat furiously. Dwalin gave her an impatient look. "Well, then? We haven't got all night!" Rose cleared her throat and began her life story; from the beginning.

It all started with my father's death. That is when my big adventure began. I remember that day like the back of my hand. That day...the day that orc filth, Azog, brutally murdered Gondallàn.

It was a peaceful day...her mother, father, brother and young little Rose herself. They were returning home after buying supplies from Dale. They were walking through the forest with their horse. As Rose walked along holding her mother's hand, she heard something. Some kind of laughter..."Nana," Rose tugged on Feina's hand. "Nana, I hear something." Her mother looked down at her, slightly worried. "My flower, what do you hear?" The little half blood pointed at the thick bushes and trees. "Some one is laughing."
And at that moment, a large, pale orc on a white warg jumped out at them, aiming for Gondallàn. Rose's father quickly took out his sword and began to protect his family. "Feina! Go! Go! Take our children and leave me." His eyes were filling with tears as he fought off the orc. Feina grabbed him, tears rolling down her cheeks. "No...my love! Let us all go..." Gondallán slashed at the pale orc, giving him at least a couple of seconds to be free. He quickly cupped his hand around Feina's face and kissed her pale lips. He leaned down and kissed Rose and Aethonír, Rose's brother, on their foreheads. "Melleth nín, gwaem...melín..." his last whispers stuck to Rose's mind as her mother quickly put her children on the horse and they rode away. Faster and faster. Little Rose was clutching onto her brother, hesitating but then looking back. Her small, tear filled eyes widened as she witnessed her father being torn apart by Azog's warg. "No, my dear Rose. Do not look back." Rose quickly turned around, crying into her older brother's back.
