It was no secret to the Avengers that y/n and Natasha loved each other. That was the show that the two of them put on while dating for the several months they had been together. That's what y/n believed as well when they had been dating. But the harsh reality had come to the surface one night in the compound.

Mostly everyone was gone for the night since there weren't any new missions to run. Tony was at his home in Malibu, spending time with Pepper and Morgan. Bruce was off at Wakanda, consulting with Shuri and T'Challa on something science and technology related. Thor was visiting New Asgard, catching up with some old friends. Only people around at the compound besides Wanda and y/n were Sam, Steve, and Clint. Honestly, the girls had no idea why they both were there, they just were.

Anyways, The boys were off in one of the game rooms having a contest of egos. Sam had made the big claim that he could beat his fellow bird man in a game of ping pong. So, of course, they both had to fight it out and see who would win. Steve just went along, curious to see who would actually win. Everyone knew Clint was a better shot, but Sam was more competitive. Needless to say, you could hear the boys in the other room.

Wanda was in her room, peacefully reading a book with some kind of soft music playing in the background, helping to set the mood for her pasttime.

Y/n was curled up on the couch, waiting for her girlfriend to make her grand appearance. Nat had been gone all day at some unknown place since she had turned off her location. Actually, this had been a recurring thing to have happened between the couple. Nat was spending more and more time out of the compound, off somewhere doing god knows what. However, when y/n or Clint would question her about it, Nat would brush it off, claim it's not that big of a deal and that the two were just paranoid over nothing. Usually Clint would buy that excuse and leave the situation be. But when y/n would try to push further, Nat would get defensive and yell.

Now, y/n could take it when Nat would get defensive. She knew that Nat sometimes had a hard time expressing and understanding her emotions thanks to the Red Room. Sure, it made it hard sometimes when something would come up or Nat would get flashbacks and such, but y/n and Nat had learned how to work together through them.

That hard part was when Nat would yell. Y/n had a hard time when people would yell, or really just with loud noises in general. While, yes, y/n had had a hard past with some shitty people, loud noises in general were painful to sit through with sensitive ears.

The door suddenly swung open and Nat just strutted in, swaying a bit with a bottle of something in her hand.

"Nat?" y/n gasped a little, taking in the sight of her clearly drunk girlfriend.

"Oh, hi y/n. What are you doing here?" she slurred a bit, trying her best to keep up right.

"Waiting for you to get back from who knows where." y/n snapped back, reaching her breaking point with her girlfriend's weird behavior. She got up from her spot on the couch and went over to her girlfriend, wanting to try and help.

Now, Nat in her drunken state, while extremely out of it, was still able to pick up on y/n's frustration in her voice.

"Oh, come on baby. I-" Nat was cut off by a hiccup and promptly followed it by a sharp giggle.
