You bolted upright in bed, your body covered in a sheen of sweat, your heart pounding in your chest. Tears streamed down your cheeks as the memories of your time in Germany flooded your mind once again. It was one of those instances where the nightmares from your past came back to haunt you, refusing to let you find peace.
Draco was abruptly awakened by your distress. Concern etched across his face, he sat up and reached out a hand to comfort you, but you swatted it away, your emotions too raw to accept any solace.
"Love, what's wrong?" Draco's voice quivered with worry as he watched you retreat from him, hastily leaving the room. He hurriedly followed after you, concern driving his every step, but as he emerged from the door, you vanished without a trace.
Overwhelmed by a mixture of sadness and fear for your well-being, you sought refuge in the depths of the manor, finding solace in a cramped broom closet tucked away in the basement. There, in the darkness, you allowed your tears to flow freely, seeking relief in the void that enveloped you, until exhaustion claimed your consciousness once again.
Meanwhile, Draco, consumed by panic and desperation, was frantically searching for you. The hours stretched on, each moment feeling like an eternity as he combed through every inch of the manor. His parents, Blaise and Pansy, were absent, having left for breakfast, unaware of the turmoil unfolding within their home.
"Oh, for Merlin's sake! I'm going to lose my mind!" Draco's voice trembled with a mix of anguish and frustration as he paced restlessly in the drawing room. The weight of your absence bore down on him, threatening to crush his sanity.
"Young master, I scoured the attic but found no trace of her," a small house elf timidly informed Draco, hoping to offer some assistance.
"Then search the entire bloody manor, damn it!" Draco's voice cracked with a blend of desperation and anger. "We've already done it countless times before, but I won't rest until she's found. Search every nook and cranny, every hidden corner! I don't care if it takes tearing this whole place apart. Find her!"
Determined to leave no stone unturned, Draco stormed off, leaving the house elf to carry out his orders. The manor buzzed with a renewed sense of urgency as the search for you intensified once again.
Finally returning to his room, Draco's restless spirit compelled him to take action. He sat down at his desk, trembling hands gripping a pen as he hastily composed a letter to his trusted friend, Harry Potter. It was a plea for assistance, a cry for help in the face of your disappearance. Draco poured his heart out onto the parchment, explaining the situation with a mixture of desperation and hope that Harry would lend his aid.
Potter,
I find myself in desperate need of the presence of my house elf. Please inform him that his presence is required immediately. Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Draco Malfoy
P.S. Merry Christmas.
He then called Ulysses to send the letter. The Borrow is nearby, so Harry will receive the letter instantly.
Afterwards, Draco went back downstairs and searched for you in every corner of the manor, but to no avail.
Anxiety started to creep in, and panic overtook him when Dobby arrived.
"Master," Dobby said.
"Just in time. Y/n is missing," Draco said, pretending to be as calm as possible.
"Have you tried the cellar, sir?"
Draco hadn't thought of that. It was the last place he would look.
Dobby began to walk, and Draco followed.
