"What do you mean she's going to the king's event?" Cassiel asks, following him.
"You changed your mind?" Isaac adds in complete shock.
Leonidas does not respond, walking out of the training field, his subordinates hot on his trail.
Their sudden stop and laughter cause the commander to turn around, his eyes narrowing at them.
Is there truly something amusing at the moment?
Cassiel places his hand on Isaac's shoulder, catching his breath.
Smiling, he steps forward, "How did she do it?"
"What?" Leonidas asks, still frowning.
"How did she get you to change your mind, because the supreme commander we know is always set on his decision," Isaac says, his hands on his hips.
"She presented a different perspective, one I never thought about," he says, ending the conversation.
Leonidas drowns out their laughs, heading inside the manor up to his chambers.
Kharis turns around when she hears the door open. A warm smile adorns her face as she greets him while wearing her dress.
"I hope you slept well, Kieran," she says, reaching behind to fix her dress.
He eyes her bare back, looking up at her head.
"I know what you did," he replies, looking at her through the mirror.
"What I did? I mean I woke up."
She appears to be struggling with the strings of her dress. He knew having a personal maid is beneficial, but she refused to have her by her side at all times.
"Do you think you could help me?"
The wearh takes slow steps towards her, "So acting oblivious is your strategy?"
"Kieran I have no clue what you're referring to, you might need to elaborate," she explains watching him through the mirror, confusion written all over her face.
Leonidas, grabs her waist, pressing her back to his chest, making her burst out in laughter.
He watches as tears make their way down her cheeks.
Everyone finds this hilarious.
"You made me a subject of humor amongst my subordinates."
"Did I?" she asks through her laugh. The sound is one of the most comforting things he's heard...watching her genuinely smile and laugh...he loves it.
He presses his lips to her exposed back, "You know I can change my mind."
Kharis turns around looking into his eyes, "But you are a man of your word, so you wouldn't dare," she replies sticking her tongue out at him.
His eyes drop down to her mouth...that tongue.
"I'm glad I got you to change your mind...it took a lot of effort."
"You deceived the lord of the manor," he jokes
"Well, I apologize that the lord of this manor can be so easily deceived."
She taps his hand and turns around, pointing to the back of her dress.
He snakes his arm around her kissing behind her ear, "You will need to put more 'effort' into that apology."
"Kieran my dress," she says, playfully rolling her eyes.
"I have no idea what to do," he replies, kissing her shoulder. Breaking out of his arms, much to his dismay, she walks to the door, and opens it, "Myria could you please help me?"
"Of course, My Lady."
