David opened his eyes and was momentarily blinded by the ray of sun that had fallen on his face. He groaned and moved his head a bit and blinked to push the sleep away. The sun was peeking through a gap beside a simple white curtain.

"Good morning." a soft voice greeted him.

He turned and saw Sarah putting Daisy on the other bed. Her free hair, a bit messy, had created a curtain, hiding her face from him. She then turned her head to him and smiled warmly.

"Morning." answered David a bit Dazed while sitting on the bed, leaning on the headboard.

"I hope you have slept well." said Sarah and clasped her hands in front of her. "I'm sorry, but I should go to my flat and get ready for work. I have given Daisy a bath and changed her diaper. I fed her less than an hour ago. So, I think she will be fine for the next hour."

David was a bit amazed by the woman in front of him. Her hair was a bit messy and her face was a bit paler due to being in the morning and having no makeup on. Yet, she looked even more beautiful in the light of the day and in her simple state.

She looked so soft and fragile and suddenly, the perverted thoughts he had last night came back rushing to his mind, making his pants instantly tighten.

"Thank you," answered David and cleared his throat. "I don't know how to repay you for your kindness."

"Oh, it's completely okay." said Sarah and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "I loved to spend the night taking care of your little angel. She was so calm and she slept well."

She blushed a bit under the scrutinizing eyes of the cold man in front of her. He really was handsome even with messy bed hair and crumbled clothes. His raspy morning voice was sending shivers down her spine every time he would speak. He had just woken up, yet, his emotionless cold eyes were piercing her soul.

Noticing the awkward silence between them, she quickly averted her eyes and looked at her feet before clearing her throat and looking up again, mentally scolding herself.

She was acting like a teenage girl, not a 27-year-old woman.

"Um, yes." she said and walked to the door. "I'm leaving now. Have a good day, David."

"You too, Miss. Sarah." nodded David, watching the woman waving for him and getting out of the room.

David waited until he heard the front door closing then he finally sighed and fall back on the bed.

"What the fuck is wrong with me?" he mumbled under his breath before rubbing his face and glancing at his side.

A small smile crept into his face instantly at the sight of his daughter sleeping peacefully. He got up and walked to her. Planting a kiss on her chubby cheek, he stood up, stretched his body, and grabbed his phone from the nightstand.

His brows furrowed when he didn't see any notification for his work mail. Certainly, they had blocked his account. But still, he had several emails on his personal email from his loyal customers. They were wondering what was happening and what will happen in their future.

Answering them and explaining the situation a bit with a promise of return, he noticed a text from Aiden, stating that he will be with him in an hour. Sighing he put his phone away and picked a t-shirt and sweatpants from his bag. All of his dress shirts and dress pants were in dire need of ironing.

Checking up on Daisy, he walked into the bathroom, leaving the door open so he could hear his daughter if she would cry. He then proceeded to take a long so needed shower.

Standing under the spray of warm water with his palms flat against the bathroom wall, he thought about the events that had happened since yesterday. His hands balled into fists and his breath became uneven as the nasty image of his bitch of a girlfriend and Shepherd filled his mind.
