Placing the last suitcase on the floor, David saw Sarah walking around the living room with Daisy in her arms. She seemed to inspect the new environment but David didn't fail to see nervousness in her eyes.

They had started packing as soon as the sun had risen with Annie, Jaxon, and Steven's help, and by sunset, they had moved to the new apartments.

The two apartments were located on the last floor of a huge building, both had two stories like penthouses. Security was tight everywhere in the building, and the newest technology had been used to secure the apartments.

Sarah was wearing skinny jeans and a light blue blouse. Her light brown hair had fallen down freely a bit under her shoulders in soft waves.

She looked ethereal and now she was going to live in his territory.

His angel

Walking behind her, he wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her to his chest, planting a kiss on the junction of her neck and shoulders.

Immediately she leaned back more into him and laid her head on his chest while gazing out the window.

"Here is sort of like a penthouse," she said, turning in his arms to look at him, giving him a soft smile. "It's so big and spacious. I like it."

He frowned a bit, feeling guilty. "Sorry for forcing you to move out of your flat so suddenly." he said gently. "And thank you for being so understanding."

Her face softened even more and she shook her head. "I had a heads up. You have told me before." she answered truthfully. "And don't worry. You were right. I had stayed longer than needed in the safety of the flats. I need to face the world fully again and not let the past rule my present."

David smiled down at her before they both heard the sound of a throat clearing. They turned, David's arm still wrapped securely around her waist.

Steven had stood in front of the front door, watching them with a faint smile.

"Well everything has been sent up here and the security is tight." he said. "It's time to leave for me and Jaxon. We have a meeting to attend tomorrow."

"Is it not better to stay here tonight and leave tomorrow?" asked Sarah worriedly and walked closer to her father. "It's night and you are tired. It's not safe to drive all the way home."

"That's why we are flying back home." answered Steven, laughing a bit as he said the next sentence. "I don't think I can tolerate Jaxon's singing once again on the way back."

Sarah and David both laughed as well.

"Hey! Are you talking about me again?" protested Jaxon as he and Aiden walked inside the apartment as well.

"I was just telling them what a great driver and company you are for a long drive." replied Steven with a teasing tone, causing Sarah and David to chuckle a bit.

Jaxon narrowed his eyes playfully before rolling them. "Whatever." he said, his face becoming more serious as he looked at Steven. "But we need to leave now if we want to catch the plane. The taxi is waiting downstairs."

Steven turned to his daughter again and his eyes softened. Sarah passed Daisy to David and quickly walked to her father and hugged him tightly which he returned immediately.

"Oh, my little princess." he cooed, his tone strained as his throat clogged like every time he would say goodbye to her. "I'm gonna miss you a lot."

"Me too." answered Sarah, her voice shaky as her tears soaked her father's shirt.

She looked up and her teary eyes met her father's eyes which were teary as well. "I'm sorry I couldn't host you better and you couldn't stay more. I miss Mom so much too." she said.
