David stood rooted in his place, staring at the old man before him. The very same man he had brought to dirt almost 4 years ago.

And suddenly, everything clicked in his mind. Now he understood why sometimes hurt would pass through Sarah's eyes when he so easily talked about using his power to get what he wanted by any means. Now he knew why she was so reluctant to get into a relationship with him, always mentioning her past.

I want you to know that I will never do anything to hurt you. Not now, not ever.

Suddenly her words on the night he asked her to be his girlfriend made sense to him. His poor Sarah was afraid he would leave her if he got to know about who she truly was. She was scared to be left heartbroken because he thought she would plot something to get close to him to take revenge.

But she didn't know something. That he knew her intentions were pure. That he knew her and he was sure an angel like her was never capable of hurting even a fly. Besides if she wanted to hurt him, she had plenty of time to take her revenge in the past months.

All the time, she was thinking of all those things when he was the true monster who should have been worried about her leaving him.

And now he was terrified that her father would take her away from him right then and there and never let him even hear about her.

But he was ready to fight for her till his last breath. He wasn't going to let anyone take his solace with themselves.

"Is this a sick jock?" yelled Jaxon exasperated glaring at Sarah heatedly. "Are you kidding us now? Please tell me this is not real and is only a jock."

"Jaxon!" called Steven and finally looked away from David. "Go and cool down."

Jaxon opened his mouth ready to protest, but Steven didn't let him. "Now, son."

Taking a long exasperated breath, Jaxon sent one hateful glare in David's direction before storming down the stairs, taking out a packet of cigarettes from his pocket, mumbling curses under his breath.

"Dad." called Sarah with a pleading tone, shaking slightly.

She was terrified. On one hand, she was afraid of David's reaction. She half expected him to accuse her of betraying him and leave her right away without even looking back.

On the other hand, she expected her father to become angry and demand for her to pack her things and go back home with him.

But she wasn't going to let any of those happen. She was ready to beg David to listen to her reasons to hide her past and was also ready to fight her father because of David.

Taking a long breath, Steven looked between his daughter and her boyfriend calmly. "Let's go inside, shall we?"

She nodded and handed her keys to him. Gulping hard, she finally dared and looked up at David beside her.

"Dave?" she whispered, expecting the worst.

But she didn't face the hatred glare she expected. He looked tired and wiery but the way he was looking at her had not changed one bit, making her heart beat faster with hope. The poor organ almost stopped working when he grabbed her hand and gave it a light squeeze as if to reassure her that he wouldn't go anywhere.

"Where is Daisy?" he asked.

"She is asleep. Adrian is still in your flat." she answered.

"Good, let's go in then." he replied turning to walk into her flat before Sarah stopped him by tugging on his hand.

"David," she said desperately, not sure what to say.

"Shhhh," he hushed her and bent down to kiss her forehead. "I know why you hide this. I'm shocked and feel bad as fuck."
