Chapter 10: Big Ol' Octopus... Again...

Y/N's POV

It was the next morning after my date with Marina. The sun somehow found its way past the curtains and into my eyes. I roll out of bed and hit the floor.  I get up, grab some clothes, and hop into the shower. I get myself squeaky clean and head downstairs. I enter the kitchen and see Pearl making some waffles.

Y/N- " Mornin', Pearl"

Pearl- " Oh, hey."

Pearl then smirks at me.

Pearl- " so... how was your date?"

Y/N- " O-oh yeah... it was great."

Pearl- " Well, tell me what happened!"

Y/N- " Oh, you know, not a whole lot... we just...ᵏᶦˢˢᵉᵈ..."

Pearl- " what was that?"

Y/N- " we kissed..."

Pearl- " Still can't hear you~"

Y/N- " ALRIGHT FINE! WE KISSED! THERE, YOU HAPPY?!"

Pearl- " HAHAHAHA! Nice. So, did you... do it?"

I turn very red.

Y/N- " NO!"

Pearl- " Y/N loves Marina! Y/N loves Marina! Y/N loves Marina!"

Y/N- " Shut up! We didn't!... Anyways, can I have some waffles"

Pearl wipes a tear of comedy from her eye.

Pearl- " Yeah, yeah..."

Pearl finishes the waffles and serves them up.

Pearl- " Y'know, I'm happy for you two. Marina has always been a bit awkward around others. I'm happy that she's found someone she can trust and be comfortable around. But, if you hurt her, I will slit your throat in your sleep, you hear me?"

Y/N- " Y-yeah, I understand."

Pearl- " Good. Now eat your waffles."

I gobble up the waffles quickly. I finish the waffles, then get a call from Marie.

Y/N- " Hey, what's up?"

Marie- " The sky. You need to come to Octocanyon, quick."

Y/N- " Why, what's wrong?"

Marie- " Just, get here, ok?"

Y/N- " Ok, ok. I'll be there."

Marie then hangs up.

Pearl- " Who was that?"

Y/N- " My boss, I need to come to work."

Pearl- " On a weekend?"

Y/N- " Apparently it's an emergency."

Pearl- " Alright then, see ya."

Y/N- " See ya."

I head upstairs, put my hero suit on with normal clothes on top, and head outside. I see a car, waiting for me.

Jim- " Hello there Y/N!"

Y/N- " Hey there Jim!"

Jim- " Where do you need to go?"

Y/N- " To Grizz Co."

Jim- " Alright then, climb in back and we'll be off."
