"I still don't know how to feel about him, Sai is just- ugh. He can't replace Sasuke! And Captain Yamato is weird too! Why can't we just have Kakashi Sensei and someone I know..." Naruto ranted to you as you both ate out at Ichiraku's. "Isn't my father wounded though? Let him heal, Naruto, it's only one mission. I know you've got this! And if it doesn't work out, I'll kick them out with you or something." Naruto grinned at you. "Right, you always have my back! Thanks [Y/N]!"
"Always." You fistbumped him before returning to your meal. "Hey, are you gonna go for Jonin at all?" You shrugged. "Possibly? The idea never really came across my mind, to be honest."
"You should go for it! You're so strong and awesome! I'll catch up with you real quick!" Naruto promised. "Boy, you better surpass me and become Hokage!" You warned playfully. You better believe I will, ya know!" He roared in triumph. "Good!" You would have to think of this Jonin thing in the meantime. Did you wanna get promoted to an Elite? Naruto was encouraging you too, which was incentive enough. You would have to ask when the next Jonin Exams were.

"Jonin Exams? So you're looking to become a Jonin? It's about time." Lady Tsunade pulled out a few papers, handing one to you. "You're in luck, they are being hosted soon. Just fill that out and show up." You bowed to your Hokage before excusing yourself. "Yo, whatcha got there?" You turned to look at Kasai. "Paperwork for the Jonin Exams." You replied. Your teammates eyes lit up. "WOAH! You're finally going for Jonin?! About time!" Finally? "Who all has been waiting on me to become a Jonin and how long?" You asked as you walked alongside Kasai. "Uh, everybody and ever since you came back with Sans." Wait that long- "Yall have been waiting that long?!" Kasai shrugged. "Yeah pretty much. Do you have any idea how powerful and intelligent you are? Gaara is lucky to have you!" Oh stars, he knew about that?! You blushed bright yellow. "Who told you-"
"Your dad, the Skeleton, not my Sensei." You growled quietly to yourself. You were gonna kill him for this. That is private information that you wanted to tell them on your own time! "Sans..." You growled in annoyance.

Sans sneezed, sending a slight stinging pain to his soul. He was trying to hold on, but truthfully, he wasn't sure if he needed to anymore or if he should. She was doing great on her own, knew how to survive on her own and knew how to control her magic. She knew about souls now and soul properties... all he really had to do was say goodbye... yet, something told him he shouldn't. Not yet. Something big was coming, something she would need him for. Thus, he held on, trying to keep his soul together despite the growing cracks that threatened to splinter his soul apart. He couldn't die yet. He was still needed for something whatever that something was. As her father, it was his job to protect her no matter what happened to him in the process. Why did he get the feeling that losing his mate wasn't going to be what killed him? Sans looked out the window and at the setting sun. Sans sighed and yawned. He wished her mother could see how grown she was... it was too bad they couldn't be together in the afterlife... Sans closed his sockets for a nap.

The days passed quickly and you found yourself handing in your form to the proctor of the Jonin Exams. The first was a written test, much like in the Chunin Exams. If you passed this, next was apparently one v one matches, again like the Chunin Exams. The last was a scrolls 'mission'. You had to complete missions on the scroll chosen in the span of seven days. It sounded easy, but you highly doubted it was. Of course, you'd let everyone you cared about know where you would be so they didn't worry. At least now you knew that you had your team, dads, and hopefully friends cheering for you. You wondered how Naruto's mission with the new members were going. You hoped they weren't giving him too much trouble. You snapped to the hear and now as the tests were handed out. You decided to use the same strategy as the Chunin Exams. Given how much more powerful you've gotten since the Chunin Exams, you had the one v one in the bag too. "I knew I should have made that kid a Jonin immediately..." Tsunade sighed as she watched you easily take the win.

"My teammates wanted to get an easier scroll than the level three we had, but that was only gonna waste time so we looked for an easier scroll while completing the missions of our scroll. We completed it before we found a new scroll, it took five days but with all our skills and my healing magic, which was very useful in the long run. That's how I became a Jonin!" You raised your tail proudly. Kakashi ruffled your hair while Sans patted your back. "Hey, why don't we all celebrate with some BBQ at Yakiniku Q?" Hizuki Sensei offered. You and Sans both perked like hungry wolves, tails wagging eagerly. Kakashi laughed. "Take that as a yes, Hizuki." She giggled herself. "I'll go make reservations."
"I'll find everyone and drag them there-" You disappeared in a shortcut in an instant. That ultimately left Kakashi and Sans alone. "... how are you doing?" Kakashi asked. "i'm good, hungry." Sans knew that wasn't what Kakashi meant. "She is more or less independent now. Does that mean you're gonna..."
"... not yet. i'm still needed." He just didn't know what for. "You should tell her Sans. You need to spend time with her while you still have it." Kakashi spoke from experience, having lost his dad at a young age. "i... i know... and i will, just... not yet.."
