Rooster's POV
I look at Jake and he smiles at me and I say "what?" He says "nothing" shaking his head. Jakes grandfather says "son, you aren't gonna make it out of this town alive if you're single. You got anyone?" I look at Jake and he nods then I say "your grandson is my husband. They won't take me alive."

His grandfather chuckles saying "I'm getting old, I don't remember anything anymore. Let me see that ring, son." I chuckle, standing up, and going to show him my matte black wedding band. He says "whoever picked that one out has taste."

I smile saying "all him" chuckling and his grandmother looks over saying "it's beautiful, darling" smiling. I say "thank you, ma'am." Jake says "doll, you're something else" quietly as I sit down. I say "what do you mean?" He mumbles "you are the first of anyone I've dated to actually get along with every single person in my immediate family."

I say "I guess I'm just perfect, huh?" Jake says "want to go out tonight?" I say "in what regard? Clubbing? A bar? A date?" Harper says "let's go clubbing." I say "babe, you are not ready for clubbing, so don't even agree to that" looking at Jake.

Jake chuckles saying "not with you, I'm certainly not. I wanna take you on a date" looking at me and I smile saying "we have a couple things to do first but sure." He says "mmm, like what?" He brushed his nose with mine and I say "ya know, things."

He bites his lip and I get up, walking out to our vehicles. He jogs after me and I pop my trunk saying "things like lugging our shit inside and changing into different clothes." Jake says "I hate being married." I smile and he comes over, kissing me slowly.

I smile saying "the sooner you get this done, the sooner you can have me, and we can do whatever you want." He sighs saying "I love you" and I say "I love you too" chuckling. We carry boxes in and he shows me to his room. We just drop the boxes before he pulls me to his bed. I say "this room just smells like I'm hugging you and I love it."

He chuckles saying "you could just hug me" and I wrap my arms around him and just hug him tightly. Jake mumbles "I love you." I say "I love you. What are we doing for our date tonight?" I bury my face in his shoulder and he says "don't worry about it, babydoll. I have an idea."

I say "you do now?" Jake smiles saying "I do." I peck his lips saying "do you want to leave now?" He checks the time saying "give it a bit" wrapping his arms around my neck. His hands move through my hair and he kisses me deeply.

I lean in to kiss his neck and I start unbuttoning his shirt. He mumbles "I'm so excited to get out of these clothes, babydoll." I smile, biting softly, and he groans quietly. I then walk away, changing out of my uniform and he does the same. Jake kisses me mumbling "you are the best thing that has happened to me." I say "Jake, we have to go back to Top Gun in a couple weeks. We're gonna have to keep it on the down low while we're there. Like really down low if the laws are still the same."

Jake says "then we're gonna have to make the most of the next couple weeks." He rubs my sides and I say "Jake, we have to say something. I don't think I can take it" and he holds my hand as we walk out of his room. He says "doll, if we say something they could get suspicious about us. It would be amazing to say something. Absolutely wonderful but if we do, Iceman can't do much for us after that if they try to kick us out of Top Gun and us committing career suicide."

I say "Jake, there are so many ways we could go about this that wouldn't kill us!" Jake says "we won't be there long, we can handle it. Right?" I say "you can! It's not that simple for me! I made it look easy but it fucking wasn't. I don't think I could do that again" tears coming to my eyes and Jake says "why didn't you tell me?" I say "babe, if you were freaking out about it like I was, it would've been even worse for me. You not knowing was probably best for both of us."

I say "plus, if we talked and got us backed into a corner, Ice would help us. He legally could too without looking corrupt" quietly. Jake says "I don't want to say anything for the sake of our lives. This is all we have. We screw it up, we're fucked." I say "Jake, if they find out before we tell them they'll have our heads."

Jake says "we don't have to tell them anything, we have to change the law." I say "they can't find out about us before the fact though. We were kinda touchy the last day." Jake says "they would've asked if they were suspicious." I say "not always." He says "but the opinions that matter, they don't know."

I say "you're right, I shouldn't worry about it." Jake says "you can worry about it all you want, doll. You have the right to. We just have to figure out a smart way to go about it" biting his lip. He hugs me and I mumble "ok" and he mumbles "I hate seeing you like this, babydoll."

I say "I want to fix it cause it fucking sucks." Jake says "I know. Let's not talk about it right now and we can talk about it over dinner, ok?" I smile saying "fine" quietly and he kisses me saying "it'll all turn out fine, ok?" I nod saying "I love you" and he says "I love you too, babydoll."
