The day is finally here. It's the day you've been waiting for, for... 2 weeks? Two whole weeks. Yup. It's true, just 14 days ago you didn't even know this place existed. I mean, this shouldn't really be surprising considering that your home in North America resides on the other side of the world, but still, since hearing of its existence you've found yourself in a bit of a state of shock.

Jujutsu Tech: A mysterious school for jujutsu sorcerers. Not even the residents of Japan know of its existence. It is some sort of well-kept secret, responsible for most of the peace in this world.

You think, maybe, you have always been destined for this. Your love of Japanese culture has been a prevalent theme throughout your life, and you've been studying the language with the faint notion that you'd get to visit someday (or at the very least, watch your favourite anime without subtitles). So perhaps, yes, you haven't been waiting just two weeks, perhaps you've been waiting for this day your whole life.

Though, you can't say you could've predicted the circumstances which lead you here. It just so happens that two weeks ago you had no clue what a curse was. You were enjoying your existence – as peacefully as it would allow for a socially anxious 20-something-year old that never finished college – when like a trick of fate, the dirty rug you'd been standing on your whole life had been pulled out from under you.

One car accident that changed everything. You don't even remember it. All you know is that one day you set out for milk, and the next you were lying on a hospital bed, the month of April taken from you.

A Near-Death Experience, they called it, a phenomenon where you experience an event so close to death, that you practically travel to the other side and regain all your sealed spiritual powers. That seemed to be your case, although you don't remember any divine being showing up to play you your life story and give you a special mission to accomplish on earth. It was just blackness as you lay there, and when you finally came to, everything was different– like someone had plugged the cords of your television in wrong.

You were lucky, you healed extremely fast, and by June 1st you were walking the streets of your normal life again.

Well...it wasn't normal for long, because on that same day you saw your first curse.

It flew at you from out of nowhere, and before you knew what was happening, a large man in a black suit was saving your butt. He introduced himself as Yaga Masamichi, the principal of Juju Tech, and that's how you found yourself here.

You yawn, the jet lag holding a weary blanket of exhaustion over your head. The afternoon sky is bright above you, but the air is fresh and kind; a far cry from the egotistical city you've come from. You've felt at peace since stepping off the plane. Japan, even the congested parts, is breathtaking. Only a few hours in and you've already seen enough to keep your jaw dropping for life. The school itself is situated on the outskirts of Tokyo, in some sort of mountain hideout that you thought only existed in movies. Upon arrival, you couldn't stop gawking. Everywhere you look there is something new and beautiful. From the perfectly serene buildings to the vast amounts of greenery, there is really no telling where nature ends and civilization takes over. Seriously, there is green everywhere. It definitely helps to calm the nerves. Well, that and the delirious state being awake for 28 hours straight puts you in.

Masamichi returns at your side, breaking you from your daze. His Terminator-like appearance was intimidating at first, but you've learned over a 12-hour plane ride that he is actually quite the softie at heart. Though, not once has he taken off his sunglasses. It's a perplexing quirk.

"Alright then," he says, looking down at a piece of paper in his hands. "Looks like Satoru's got you in room 42. I'll show you to your dorm, but I'm afraid I've got some business to attend to, so you'll have to get settled on your own. Satoru should be back soon, but knowing him, he'll probably be about 8 minutes later than you expect." He grumbles, his frown emphasized by his sharp cheekbones.
