"Where am I?" The thought lasts a moment and then you are spinning again—falling, at light speed. You are pulled back into the vortex, but rather than floating aimlessly, you feel yourself being pulled toward something. Something important.

A light begins to blossom ahead of you. At first, it is just a small dot in the center of your vision, but as you get closer, it gets bigger and brighter. Eventually, it is so bright, that you can barely stand to look at it. You try to squint, to look away, but you can't. You are consumed by the light and then, as if hands reach in from the other side, you are pulled through.

You gasp and sit up.

The first gulp of air that enters your lungs stings. You take another, and another, becoming more and more desperate for the cool substance.

This, this is breathing.

You steady yourself, easing your body back into its natural rhythms while taking stock of the situation.

Your throat—this thing you use for breathing—is dry, and your limbs feel like they each individually weigh 500 pounds. Also, it is bright. So bright.

You blink until the light softens, and you can finally make out a few shapes in the room. The walls are an unfriendly sterile color, a color that only makes the brightness worse, and there are no windows, only artificial light. Everything feels unnatural and cold, and everything hurts your eyes. A word comes to your mind. A hospital. You have been through this before, but last time, it wasn't nearly as shocking.

You look around, your bed is the only one that is filled, but you are not alone in the room. Something called you here.

You turn.

Sitting beside you is...

"Go-jo!" The words come out choked. You catch yourself before you are taken by a fit of coughs.

Gojo's long form is slumped awkwardly in a chair. He wears the same uniform you are used to seeing him in, so you are sure it is him. His blindfold covers up his eyes so you can't tell whether they are open or closed, but you are pretty sure he is sleeping. His chin rests lightly against his chest, and his arms are hugged around a large, brown teddy bear.

The sight aches your heart.

He breathes so softly. He looks so peaceful, so still...

"Gojo, is that really you?"

You reach your hand out to touch him but are stopped within an inch of his face by some invisible wall.

You jolt back. What is this? Is this an illusion? You can't touch him. Why can't you touch him??

You reel your fist back, fully prepared to smash the glass that separates you and Gojo-sensei.

Just as you are about to slam into it, a quick hand catches your wrist.

You find yourself staring directly into that very same blindfold. Staring directly into Gojo's face.

For a heart-stopping moment, you remain just like that, gazing into each other, both deciding whether to accept if the other is real.

You watch a range of emotions flood his face—confusion, desperation, and relief. Eventually, he lands on pure childish joy and opens up into a big smile.

"[M/C]!!!!" he calls.

The wall between you instantly drops and he swallows you into a big bear hug (quite literally, for the bear is squished in between you two). You allow yourself to be suffocated by his warmth as his solid arms grip you tight. You can't believe it, he's really here. You're really here. Gojo-sensei, you can see him, you can feel him. Just like that, it was so easy.
