You stare at yourself in the floor-length mirror. The girl that looks back at you is almost unrecognizable. Not much has changed about your appearance, all that's different is a few slips of fabric, and yet you feel... leveled up.
The soft material of the school uniform slipped on easily, and it hugs your body in all the right places. Its dark edge makes your tired eyes look wild, like an assassin's. No one would guess that the girl underneath has zero fighting skills. You think there must be some magic imbued in the thread, because you have an odd itching to fight.
Is this how superheroes feel?
You attempt a battle stance just as Gojo pops his head into your room.
"You ready?"
You startle, you swear you didn't even hear him coming.
Gojo walks into your room, the effect is not as dizzying this time, but you are still somewhat accosted by his presence. He puts a hand to his chin and looks you up and down, or at least you think he does, you can't see his eyes but you feel a trail of fire igniting along your body.
"I knew it!" he says at last. "It looks great on you!"
You pull at the ninja-style pants. "Really? I thought girls were supposed to wear skirts, you don't think I'll get too many weird looks?"
He shakes his head. "Ah but, this is more comfortable no? I hear you American girls practically live in sweatpants."
You blush. "Well... I do like them."
"See? Plus! You already stand out as is! Why not stand out more?"
"I do?" Oh yeah... that's right, you're a foreigner. No matter how much you believe to be connected to Japanese culture, you still stand out like a sore thumb. Though, you find it kind of blunt for Gojo to state the obvious like that.
Gojo makes a hum of satisfaction. "Mmhm, because you're pretty of course!"
Wait– what?? You take a step back. H-he wasn't just calling you out on your obvious green card status?
You look at him. His expression is plain, giving nothing away.
From what you know about him so far, he's probably just teasing, but still, you can't stop the blush spreading throughout your face.
"Oh, thanks I guess..." you say, shrinking into the fabric. Where is the invisible mode on this thing? "But wait, you didn't know what I looked like when you had this made did you?"
"Nope! Call it intuition." You swear he winks. "Now then, shall I announce our destination?"
"Oh! Yes please!" You perk up in excitement. Now, fully dressed, you feel a bit more prepared for the dreaded mission that awaits you.
"We're going to Ginza!"
***
Ginza, the high-class shopping district you've heard so much about. Your knees won't stop bouncing on the train as you think about all the places you want to visit. You picture the bright lights and the bustle of people and your heart speeds up. The true Tokyo experience!
You have to remind yourself a few times that you're here for a school mission, not for pleasure.
Gojo takes your enthusiastic silence as a chance to explain a few things about the Juju world, mostly odd quirks about the other students and teachers. They all sound like rather interesting people, though, you notice a certain strain enters his voice when he speaks of the association. You want to ask him about it, but decide to leave it for later.
