Chapter 24 - Cheat Code

Isekai thought about what to do with Sayori, and the game itself. He pondered on about how he could at least have a clue on what he should do. He kept thinking, and thinking, when he got onto something. "Wait, if I'm in a game, doesn't that also mean I can get into the game's files? It said that I'm not a character file, yet I still exist here and can affect the events that happen. Judging from the menu screen here, Sayori shouldn't exist anymore," Isekai thought, trying to find a way to get into the game's files.

"Oh, maybe if I break a hole open, I could probably get inside the game's files," he thought, using his abilities to try to rip open a rift into the digital space where he can find the game's files. After a bit of struggling, he rips one open and goes into it.

Inside the folder, he searched around in the folders packed inside. He found a folder named "Characters." He stared at it for two seconds. "Yeah, that should be it," he muttered, entering the folder. He found the following files:

He couldn't find Sayori's file, naturally. However, what specifically interested Isekai was the file named "TRUE." He wasn't sure what or who it was. He tried to enter the file so he could figure out who it was. However, as he tried to enter, a glitch jumpscared him, pushing him away. When he gathered his senses and looked at the file, he found that it was encrypted.

"Well, if I were a bettin' man, that's what made me lose control over the game via my phone..." Isekai says to himself. "Well, in any case, Sayori's file isn't here. She shouldn't be controllable anymore. But the first step, is reviving her. I need her help. We can get MC and Natsuki and fill them in. I can copy the data from the script, and also make a data file for Sayori to manipulate," he mutters, going through the folders, and finding the script. "My shields seem to be able to give immunity to the erasure that Masa pulled off. That should be a part of the script too. He erased everything around him, even himself. This would be easy, but the game erased my phone. However, even my own finger can do this..." he quickly says to himself, his arm becoming mechanical. He jabs it into the script file, and he can see everything.

"Normally, I wouldn't even know how this works, but being the brand creator of a project phone in 531, and my own world, I know a thing or two," he thought, proceeding to copy the status of Masahiro's and Natsuki's memories on the day before the festival. Following that, he copied the status of Sayori's wellbeing. He then uses cables to attach himself to Sayori. He temporarily creates a character file for Sayori, with the purpose of storing her data, not a file with the purpose of allowing her to exist. He pastes the copied data into her file.

He then begins to search for the string that caused her depression, and erases that. Isekai sighs, and closes her character file and disconnects his cables from her. Following that, he deletes the data. He then stops using his mechanical powers. "All these abilities really are a blessing. Although, more like blessings from others, considering where they came from."

Sayori's eyes open, and she came to. "Oh, thank God, you're okay..." Isekai mutters, hugging her. "I-Isekai? What's going on? Where am I?" she questions, confused. "Okay, okay, Sayori, calm down. I know you're confused, but here's what's going on. You killed yourself, and the world fell apart. We're in a different place. I know this is hard to believe, but..." he explains to her.

Sayori looks around, noticing all the data strings around her. Isekai nods in regret. "So, it really is... I really am in a game," she mutters, seeming to question her very existence, if there even is one for her. "You can contemplate on the meaning of it all later, we have something to do," he says, entering the rift he opened.

Sayori sees the menu screen in front of her, and she's in shock. Isekai closes the rift and floats next to her. "You see that glitched thing? That was you. Your file was deleted. However, it seems that my abilities protected you from total erasure, and I managed to get you back up."

"Now... here's what we need to do. We're gonna go play the game, and we're gonna get Masa's memories back. I copied Natsuki's memories too. We just need to meet up with them now. We just have to start playing. Are you ready?" he asks her. Sayori nods.

Isekai flies forward, and presses the New Game button.
