Vaes Dothrak was a place of peace, where alliances were forged. When Khal Drogo rode in with six other Khals, several took notice of this new alliance. What surprised them was the woman riding close to Drogo. Like the other men, she had given up several weapons. Both of her servant girls quickly handed over six daggers before following their Khaleesi. This stunned many. As time passed, the celebrations grew, and people drank and learned more about the woman. Many approved of her.
In the midst of the feast, Drogo rose. "Anna khaleesi ajjin ma yalli mae tikh zhorre jin hrazef zhor" (My Khaleesi is with child; she will have the stallion's heart). Cheers rang out.
Jorah sat back, his eyes wide in horror. She was pregnant? How long had she been pregnant? He had heard from Doreah that she was still having her moon blood. That's when he turned to Viserys and quickly translated. He watched as the prince was once again filled with anger, but this time, he had nobody to take it out on.
Neither of the men was pleased, and they kept a tight hold on their tempers. However, the next morning, both were dragged to the hall to watch the ceremony. Both men watched in horror as she ate the horse's heart. Jorah watched as the Khal leaned forward with a smirk as Daenerys swallowed the last bits of the heart. If she wanted to vomit, she didn't.
Instead, she stood proudly as the Dosh Kaleen read the omens. Daenerys then proclaimed with a strong voice, "Khalakka dothrae mr'anha!" Cheers rang out as Drogo proudly picked up his wife and carried her. The other allied Khals screamed in joy. The little woman had impressed them. They knew she would bear the prophesied child.
Jorah and Viserys looked on—one with a small smile, and the other with anger. As they exited the tent, they watched as Drogo and Daenerys entered their tent with joy. When they left to join the other celebrations, Daella walked up to Viserys and grabbed his hands. "Come dance with me, my prince." Her eyes were bright with joy, and Viserys melted. Jorah, however, didn't. He turned and made his way into the tent. His eyes widened when he saw the eggs. Where had the nine other eggs come from?
"What are you doing in our tent, Jorah?" Immediately, the man whirled around and watched the woman in shock. Daenerys stared at him with a frown on her face. Behind her stood Khal Drogo.
Turning, she shook her head and left as the blood riders walked in and grabbed him. "Oqo ma akka liwalat mae" (Beat and tie him). Jorah struggled as the men dragged him out of Vaes Dothrak to punish him. Daella danced around Viserys and served him wine. She had seen the dark look in Qotho's eyes as she sat in Viserys' lap.
After a while, the man was highly intoxicated and bitter about the fact his sister was well-loved and enjoying her life here. Before Daella knew what was happening, Viserys left the hall in anger. She watched as he stomped off into his tent and stayed there.
As the day passed on, the celebrations continued into the night. Daenerys sat with the women, laughing and talking, listening to the advice some of the older women in the room gave her about childbirth. Everything was going well when Viserys walked in, shouting, "Khal Drogo! I'm here for the feast!"
Drogo laughed and pointed to a dark corner while speaking, "Gache ha yeri save rekke." Irri, with a smug smile, spoke, "Khal Drogo says there is a place for you. Back there." Viserys turned to the area where the Khal had pointed and looked at it with a glare. "That is no place for a king!"
Drogo leaned forward, a dark look on his face. "You are no King." As those words echoed in the room, Viserys pulled out his sword and placed it on his sister's stomach. Daella moved to protect her, but Daenerys shook her head and looked at her brother in the eye as he spoke, "I want what I came for. I want the crown he promised me. He bought you, but he never paid for you. Tell him I want what was bargained for, or I'm taking you back. He can keep the baby, I'll cut it out and leave it for him."
As Irri translated, Drogo's eyes grew dark, and he spoke, "Sek, yer tikh zhorre jin golden crown. Rek mahrazhi tikh tremble tat tihat." Daenerys stared at her brother's eyes, now filled with hate, not that Viserys knew.
"What is he saying?" the man asked in a panic as the realisation of what he had done caught up to him.
"He says yes, you shall have a golden crown that men will tremble to behold."
Viserys stepped back, pleased with what had happened. However, he was surprised when he was grabbed, and his hands were broken. "They won't kill you yet." As he was dragged out, Drogo walked over to his wife. She looked at him and nodded.
The couple walked out towards the gates of Vaes Dothrak. Several followed them and watched in surprise as a pyre was set up, tied to the sides where Jorah and Viserys were. They stood and watched as the Khaleesi's handmaidens placed her dragon eggs on the pyre. In the middle of the pyre was a witch who had tried to kill the Khal and was kept prisoner.
Daenerys kissed Drogo and walked up to the pyre. Her eyes were filled with determination as she stepped in front of the pyre and was engulfed in flames that covered it. The different Khalasars gathered and watched in surprise as this Khaleesi controlled fire and then entered it.
Drogo stood proudly and watched as the two men screamed and begged while the witch's scream died. The fire raged on all through the night, and several stayed to see the result. As the sun rose, Drogo let out a loud laugh, "Jalan atthirari anni ajjin jin qoy ki dragons" (The moon of my life is the blood of dragons). Several watched the pyre in shock. There stood Khal Drogo's Khaleesi, and around her were dragons.
In King's Landing
Arya Stark stood in the Red Keep with a small frown on her face. Her father had been suspicious of the queen. Arya thought he was a bit too honest about this. She instead started exploring the castle. In doing so, she came across a dragon skull and a man.
"A girl is curious about the Targaryens," the man said. Arya jumped and looked at the man, creating a space between them to run before nodding.
"The family left four survivors, however, now it's three," he continued. Arya was surprised. "A girl's father knows of three?" Arya was shocked that her father knew about this. She now walked closer.
"And the dragons?" she asked.
The man watched her and smirked. "Across the Narrow Sea, the Targaryen princess has twelve. Her husband stands by her side, ready for her return."
Arya was now determined. "I want to meet her." The man smirked. His job was done.
