A wedding was a long celebration, and Daenerys ensured that she looked the part. She had meticulously cared for her skin, rubbing every inch with jasmine and lavender oil. Once certain the room was clear, she took out her dress—a flowing, lightweight white garment fashioned after a design from her first life. She paired it with flats while she could ride in heels, it would not be appropriate

On her finger rested the last gift she had ever received before Ser William died—a double-headed dragon ring. When he had given it to her, she often remarked that it was too big, and each time, he told her it was not for now but for when she got married.

Viserys stared at his sister as she approached, his gaze flickering to the ring. It was one of the few things she had fought him to keep, and he understood why—Ser William was all they had left, and that ring was the last connection to him. As she walked towards Khal Drogo, many of the khalasar observed their new Khaleesi. They had heard from their Khal's bloodriders that she was a warrior, that she spoke their language, and that her people were the blood of dragons. Their new Khaleesi was young, but she was strong. They did not miss the fire in her eyes or how she had styled her hair in their traditions.

They watched as she admired the weapons, her expression tinged with longing. She did not fear blood or violence, as evidenced by the bloodthirsty grin she wore while observing the battles before her. Yes, the bloodriders had been right—their Khal had chosen well. She was not soft and innocent.

Khal Drogo had also taken notice of how his Khaleesi enjoyed the festivities. It seemed he had picked a woman who would not disappoint him or his people. He observed as Jorah the Andal approached and presented her with books. To his amusement, Daenerys donned an innocent, almost weak expression. She did not trust the man to see beyond her mask, yet she trusted his people. His Khaleesi knew something about this man but chose to keep him close—she was a devious one, and he liked that.

When she thanked the Magister for the stone eggs, Drogo noted the way her eyes lingered on them, as if there was more to the story. Meanwhile, Viserys seethed with jealousy.

Finally, it was time for his gift. He mounted his horse, rode to where the animals were kept, and returned with a grey mare. He watched as Daenerys approached, touching the horse with reverence. Then, to the astonishment of the khalasar, she mounted effortlessly. A slow ride turned into a gallop, and to everyone's amazement, she jumped over the firepit before returning to him with a radiant smile.

With a voice loud enough for all to hear, she declared, "Tih Khal yeri hash given anna the chaf." The khalasar murmured in approval, surprised by her fluency in their tongue.

Knowing what came next, Khal Drogo signaled for her to follow. As she prepared to ride off, Viserys grabbed her leg, his grip firm. "Make him happy," he hissed. The khalasar noticed how their Khaleesi restrained herself from reacting violently. Instead, she gave a small smile before riding off.

As they traveled away from the camp, Daenerys realized what was to come. Fortunately, she had already taken something to dull the pain of losing her maidenhood. Upon reaching a secluded clearing, she took in the effort made—there were no jagged rocks, only smooth earth. She turned to face her Khal as he approached.

To her surprise, he took her face in his hands and kissed her softly, his touch gentle. He did not rush to remove her dress, though he had discarded his own clothing. Smiling, she undid the clasp of her dress and let it fall, removing her undergarments as well. She kissed him, letting her hands roam. For the first time, Khal Drogo was caught unaware. That night, he became hers as much as she was his. Unlike before, this was passionate and without tears. She allowed him to mount her, though she made it clear this would not happen often. The Khal accepted this with a smirk.

As dawn broke, Drogo woke to find his Khaleesi already dressed, watching the sunrise. She turned to him with a smile. Instead of the white dress from the wedding, she now wore another—one that seemed to glow in the morning light.

Me seems yer zhorre awoken, shekh ma shieraki anni," she greeted, her voice like silk.

She smelled fresh, as though their lovemaking had not happened. He followed her gaze downward and saw the river. Realizing she had already bathed, he quickly made his way down, washing himself before returning. His Khaleesi efficiently braided his hair, then stood beside him.

As expected, his bloodriders arrived to fetch him. They were surprised to find their Khal and Khaleesi already mounted, waiting. Daenerys smiled softly at them before glancing at the water, holding a cloth with blood on it. The men looked at it questioningly, to which she shook her head.

"Anna chomak use jin ven jin symbol ki purity tat prove anna husband ki jin ate tat zhorre anna," she explained. The bloodriders were taken aback, but as she elaborated on the customs of her people, they concluded that while strange, her ways were not without reason.

As they arrived back at camp, Daenerys met Viserys' and Jorah's gazes, but did not stop riding. She knew they would be leaving soon, so she dismounted and walked to her handmaidens. "Fichat anna adakha tat esinasolat," she instructed. They nodded and rushed into her tent to prepare her clothing. She quickly changed, wrapping her hands in bandages soaked with oils before exiting. As she secured the bag she had smuggled out of Pentos onto her horse, she also fastened a sword to her side.

It was the first time Viserys saw the weapon, a gift from the Faceless Men.

As they rode off, she noted that her brother had not approached her. Jorah, however, observed her with a small frown. She was different from what he had been told.

She had the bearing of a warrior.

She spoke her husband's language fluently.

She had the respect of the khalasar.

Jorah realized that the greatest threat was not the boy pretending to be king.

It was the girl who was already a queen.
