The last thing Wally West remembered before blacking out was running into the speed force right before the antimatter wave hit earth, since it became clear that the world was lost, but maybe there was some way he could save people if he could go back in time and stop this crisis from happening, but it didn't work. Instead, he found himself stuck in the speed force and then it was lights out for him.

And then, somehow, he woke up in what looked like a replica of his old bedroom from the house he'd shared with his mom in Keystone where he grew up and it looked exactly like it had when he was a kid.

"I'm still in the speed force." Wally realized.

"Yes you are Wally West." a familiar voice said and Wally turned to see Nora Allen standing there.

"You're the speed force? I thought you'd appear as someone significant to me, not Barry." Wally asked, not rudely, more curiously.

"Things have changed. I am no longer the same speed force you once knew." the speed force said.

"What is that supposed to mean?" Wally asked, now understanding what Barry meant about how confusing the speed force could be.

"While you were asleep Wally, I nearly died." the speed force said.

"What, how is that possible?" Wally asked.

"Barry Allen took in the energy of an unknown energy source to give him the power he needed to transport himself and the other paragons to the necessary point in time and while he succeeded, taking that energy in caused a meltdown in the speed force. We were barely able to contain it, but we know Barry did what he had to do and it's a good thing too, since it allowed him to give both of us a second chance." the speed force said.

"What do you mean?" Wally asked.

"When Barry Allen and his allies recreated the universe, he provided me with a means to survival, though one that until now I did not know would actually work, since it had never been before." the speed force said.

"And what was that?" Wally asked.

"There was only one thing that could cure me. I had to take someone as my actual physical avatar. Instead of just taking a temporary human form from time to time like I used to, I had to actually merge myself with the consciousness of a human and it worked, since it saved me." the speed force said as Wally began to realize what she meant.

"You're not just projecting yourself as Barry's mom anymore are you? You are Barry's mom?" Wally asked and the speed force or rather Nora, nodded.

"Yes. Nora Allen was always my favorite form to take when I needed to take one and she was the perfect candidate, I made her my avatar as she died. Our merging saved us both. However, it also means that we're now dependent upon another." Nora said.

"So you're Nora Allen, but you're also the speed force, that's trippy." Wally said and Nora chuckled.

"Try living it. And it's not ideal, but at least it's allowed me to still have a role in Barry's life, after I became the avatar of the speed force, I was able to watch my son grow up in this new reality and now I'm connected to him again." Nora said.

"You'll always be with Barry when he runs." Wally said and Nora nodded.

"And with you and all other speedsters." Nora said.

"Can you leave the speed force?" Wally asked.

"Only for short periods of time and I can only do it for brief instances. The speed force and I are dependent on each other for survival. If I'm out in the real world for too long, I begin to die and the speed force becomes unstable." Nora said.

"Well, at least Barry will be able to visit you." Wally said, thinking that was some kind of silver lining.

"Yes and when I release you to this new world, I want you to promise me something." Nora said.

"What is it?" Wally asked.

"Find my son and tell him about this. Tell him I'd like to see my boy again." Nora said and Wally smiled.

"I will." Wally promised.

"Good. Now just one more thing to take care of before I send you on your way. I'm going to connect your consciousness to the consciousness of your counterpart from this world, since you'll basically be taking his place in this new world, so you'll need to know what's changed in order to be able to properly adapt to it." Nora said and Wally nodded.

"Wait, is there anything else I should know?" Wally asked.

"Yes, one more thing. You're not a kid anymore Wally. It's time to leave Kid Flash in the past and become something more. Not the Flash of course, but that was never your destiny in either reality. You were always meant to be something more impulsive." Nora said with a smirk, but before Wally could question that, Nora snapped her fingers and suddenly he started running like his legs had a mind of their own as new memories entered his mind.

Memories of his mother being Cecille in this new reality, growing up with her, his dad and Iris in Central City, doing his best to intimidate Barry when he started dating his sister and then moving to Keystone for school in engineering, among other things.

It all went by so fast even for a speedster that eventually Wally's mind moved so fast that he blacked out as he still kept running towards his new life.
