Before the chapter, one quick thing. Though it is important. In case you haven't heard, not only will Dig, Wally and Bloodwork be returning to the Flash in season 9, but so is the man who started it all. Stephen Amell is officially confirmed to make some kind of appearance in episode 9 of season 9 of the Flash. I know we all had our fingers crossed for it and there were several rumors about it online, but now that it's finally been confirmed, all I have to say is that yay. It didn't seem right for the series to not have Oliver Queen in it at the end. I can't wait to see how they pull it off, since it sounds like it will definitely be Green Arrow Oliver, not Spectre Oliver. I can't wait to see it. Sorry, I just wanted to get that off my chest, because I'm excited and it feels like the Flash cannot start fast enough now. I mean it already felt like that before, but even more so. I hope we find out that Melissa Benoist will also be making an appearance, just so we can get one more scene with the Trinity in it. But anyways, now, on with the chapter.

Also, just a little warning for the future of this story, I will be putting a new spin on a popular DC character. You'll know it when you see it.

When Wally woke up, he found himself sitting upwards in bed in a bedroom that he didn't recognize. At least not at first. Then he remembered that this was his bedroom in the new reality, located above the machine shop he ran and owned in this reality, something that made Wally smile, since it seemed like one thing he and his counterpart from this world had in common was a general love of working with machinery. Specifically cars. Another thing that had carried over to this world from the old one was Wally's love of speed, though in this reality, he didn't pursue it by being an illegal street racer. No, in this reality, he used his machine shop to fund tricking out cars with new and he'll admit sometimes strange things he'd find in even stranger places and seeing just how fast he could get them to go. Though he did have some help.

His partner at the shop and close friend from school, Kira Runk. They were both born in Central City and they'd both attended Keystone University to study engineering. The difference being that while Wally had kind of been an outlier in his family, since his dad was a cop, his mom was the DA and his sister was a military veteran, he'd always had more of an interest in engineering, though his parents had supported it, but anyways, Kira came from a family of scientists, since she was an inventor, a scientist and an engineer and both her father and younger brother were similar to her.

Anyways, Kira and Wally had gone into business together after they'd graduated, since neither of them wanted to work for a big tech company, so instead, they started their own machine shop that mainly specialized in auto repair, but in reality, they used it to fund their real passion, which was fixing up old cars and tricking them out with new and honestly insane things to increase their speed.

That's actually how Wally got his speed in this reality. It was a side effect of one of his and Kira's experiments, due to the long term exposure of one of the experimental compounds they used to turbo charge the cars, combined with something that the media had simply dubbed the outbreak. The reason they called it that was because some unknown force had caused people to start developing metahuman abilities. Which was actually how Wally ended up meeting the love of his life for the second time around. Jesse Wells, though in this reality, she was Jesse McCulloch, the daughter of McCulloch Technologies founders Joseph Carver and Eva McCulloch, though her mother had died around the same time the Outbreak had started and her father had booted Jesse from the company shortly after he took full ownership of the company. Something that didn't bode well for Jesse, since she'd always suspected that her father had something to do with her mother's disappearance.

Anyways, it turns out that in this reality, he and Jesse had already been together before Wally woke up in this reality, something he was very happy about. Between his speed, Kira's ingenuity and Jesse's resources and all three of their combined brainpower, the three of them quickly formed a team to determine what the hell had cause the meta outbreak and find out what was going on with Jesse's father, since Wally was beginning to agree that it was no accident and he was beginning to suspect that whatever the hell was going on here, Joseph Carver was behind it.

Anyways, after she'd been booted from McCulloch, Jesse had set up her own lab in the same building as Wally's shop, where the first thing she'd done was make Wally's suit, which was identical to his old Kid Flash costume, but now Wally wasn't sure if he still wanted to go by that name. Something about what the Speed Force had said to him.

But before he could fully think about that, he decided that he needed to make a trip back home to Central City before he did anything else, since he had a promise to keep and he could use some advice from his old mentor.
