A few days later, Joseph Carver was sitting in his office at McCulloch Technologies, going over some files, right as the doors burst open and Keystone PD came surging in, along with his daughter Jesse.
"What the hell is going on here?" Joseph asked as Detective Eddie Thawne approached him and placed cuffs on him.
"Joseph Carver, you are under arrest for conspiracy and forgery of your wife's will, which we found proof that your daughter was the one who was supposed to take over McCulloch Technologies in the event of her death, not you. You're also being charged with theft, since you did steal the company from her. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be provided for you. Do you understand the rights I have just read to you? With these rights in mind, do you wish to speak to me?" Eddie asked, reading him his rights.
"You have no proof." Carver said.
"Actually we do. And it doesn't help that you threatened me in my apartment." Jesse said as she placed some papers on the table.
"That's mom's real will and also records of your bank statements, showing that you made very large payments to several city officials to forge it." Jesse said smugly.
"You won't get away with this Jesse. There's no way these charges will hold up." Carver said and Jesse chuckled.
"Even if they don't for some reason, you're done here, since I just heard from the McCulloch board that they've voted you out of the company and they're not only reinstating me to it, but they've appointed me the new CEO, since I should've been in the first place and before you try to add bribery to your charges, you should know that your assets have either been frozen or transferred to me as payment for what you did to me." Jesse said, only to have to back away quickly as her father tried to lunge at her, fury clear on his face and Jesse was actually scared by him, only for him to be restrained by two officers.
"Okay, let's add assaulting a woman to his charges." Eddie said, anger clear in his voice, since he hated people like him.
"You're going to regret this Jesse. You were always an ungrateful brat who caused nothing but trouble. You're trouble making bitch and you've been one ever since you were born. Why your mother wanted a child is beyond me." Carver angrily shouted at her as he was dragged out of the office as Jesse tried to hide how much those words truly hurt her.
"Are you okay?" Eddie asked Jesse.
"I will be once I've completely purged my father's influence from this company. And once I see him locked up behind bars for the rest of his life, since even though I can't prove it yet, I know he had something to do with my mom's disappearance." Jesse said, since while she hated her father, she did love her mother dearly and she was going to find out what happened to her and more importantly, how to bring her back.
"You know that's a very serious charge to make without proof." Eddie said.
"That's why I'm not officially making it a charge until I find proof, whatever it may be." Jesse said and Eddie nodded.
"Good. Just wanted to make sure you were clear about that. But hopefully we have what we need to at least put him away for a long time." Eddie said.
"Let's hope." Jesse said, hoping that her father would stay locked up at least until she could bring her mom back to testify against him.
