When the Argus transport finally arrived at the prison, they found director Michaels waiting for them.
"I take it by the fact that you're late that you ran into some trouble?" Lyla asked Ralph as he and Silver Wolf walked up to her.
"Some of Carver's now former flunkies tried to break him out, but Impulse and Cyborg took care of them, though Lisa Snart is currently being held at our base, since she needed more immediate medical attention and Impulse doesn't think she was working on her own accord. Especially since she's a meta with actual gold powers now." Silver Wolf said.
"Wonderful." Lyla said as she watched her agents bring Carver out of the truck.
"Take him to processing. We'll begin questioning him soon." Lyla said and the agents nodded as they escorted Carver inside.
"So what's next?" Ralph asked.
"Well, you and your wife are going to Central City to keep tabs on the ever growing metahuman situation there." Lyla said.
"And to serve as a liaison with Team Flash?" Ralph asked, though he clearly had no issues with this.
"Exactly." Lyla said with a smile as Impulse sped up to them and delivered a meta cuffed Double Down, Atom Smasher, Sand Demon and Tar Pit to Argus.
"Carver's flunkies who attempted to hijack the transport and unlike Lisa Snart, they're guilty as charged." Impulse said and Lyla nodded.
"I'd like to see Ms. Snart though, judge this for myself." Lyla said.
"Once they're processed and you've gone through traditional Argus protocols, I'll take you to speak with her." Impulse said and Lyla nodded as they took the thugs into the facility for processing.
Carver couldn't believe this. Not only had his greatest allies abandoned him, but the thugs that had been sent to get him had failed so spectacularly he wondered if they'd done so on purpose. And now, here he was sitting on a cold hard prison slab wearing a yellow Argus prisoner jumpsuit while the muscle that had been sent to get him was being sent to the metahuman wing.
Or at least he was before he was dragged into an interrogation room, where he found his daughter Jesse waiting for him and he could tell that she'd taken some extra time to prepare for this, since she was now wearing clothes that looked like they cost a fortune, as if she wanted to show off just how much she'd risen since he was taken down.
"What do you want and how did you even get in here?" Carver asked his daughter, only to have Jesse glare at him.
"Shut up. You really think that you have any right to ask me questions? After what you've done?" Jesse snarled at him.
"Which thing exactly?" Carver asked cockily.
"What the hell did you do to mom?" Jesse asked.
"Nothing less than she deserved." Carver said, only to have Jesse slap him.
"That has to be assault." Carver said, looking for guards to drag her out, but none came.
"Yeah no. It's just you and me right now. And I know what you did to mom. How you and Uncle Evan trapped her in that place." Jesse said.
"Your mother is lucky, that's all we did to her." Carver said.
"Why? What the hell is wrong with you that you'd try to kill your own wife? Why do you hate your daughter so much? All I ever wanted was a father to love me. Why couldn't you give that to me?" Jesse demanded and to her surprise, Carver started laughing.
"You still haven't figured it out yet? I thought you were a genius." Carver said.
"What are you talking about?" Jesse asked.
"I guess I'll have to spell it out for you. I'm not your father Jessica." Carver said, shocking Jesse.
"What?" Jesse demanded.
"I'm surprised you never figured it out in school. Run a DNA test on yourself and I think you'll find that you don't possess a single bit of Carver DNA. You are the result of an affair your mother had over 22 years ago." Carver said.
"How is it an affair if you two were on a break?" Jesse asked, since she knew that her parents' marriage had been far from perfect even before she was born.
"Not the point. But you are not my daughter and you're nothing more than a constant reminder of how your mother betrayed me." Carver said.
"Who is my father if it's not you?" Jesse asked, though she was thrilled that she didn't have a drop of Carver blood in her.
"I'll let you figure that out. Or maybe you can ask your mother the next time she decides to appear in a glass of water." Carver said.
"We're done here." Jesse said as she got up and left Carver alone.
