Sorry for the long wait guys. From now on, I'll make the chapters longer :)Chapter 32
Savanna's POV
We were actually being successful, with mom occasionally bringing food or drinks. If there was something I'd say about Luke, he was clearly a not a creative artist.
I don't know if he was just being lazy but he only painted the moon white(which was a little okay for me), the sun plainly yellow, and the background only black with no stars.
"Hey Luke?" I called out as he was busy painting the earth.
"Yeah?" He asked, continuing what he was doing.
"Can I re-animate the sun... You know, male it more lively?" I asked. "Oh, and I probably would like to add the stars on the background, making constellations."
I was careful not to say anything hurtful. Luke and I knew each other very well, yet he seems like we're strangers, careful on each step we make. I want the type of relationship where I could insult him, not making him take it to the heart.
"Do you question my art?" He asked. This was the question I wasn't looking forward to.
"Um... No! I just want to improve it." I said. "Your art is perfect, I just want to add some stars and put some decorations to the sun."
He shook his head amusingly and turned to me. "Really? Decorations to the sun?" He asked. "What? Are you going to place Christmas lights or probably place a ribbon on top of it?" He gave me a challenging smirk.
"You're impossible." I stated.
He chuckled. "Why thank you, Miss Eastwood. I'd always love to be the impossible."
"You know what? I'm just going to paint." I said.
"Yeah you do that." He continued painting the earth with a smile tugged at the corner of his lips.
Damn, his lips...
I should stop checking him out. "Are you having a problem with my devastating looks?" He asked as if reading my thoughts.
"No, you are just so annoying."
"I thought you were going to say that I have a hell of a sex appeal." He gave me a wink.
"Oh, shut up, you arrogant bastard." I said, running out of words.
"Will do, Mrs. Cupcake."
~~~~~
It was time for him to go, but I didn't want him to leave yet. We were at the front yard, where no one could see us.
I pushed my crochet jacket(which really didn't help the cold) and my head leaned on the crook of his neck and his arm was on my waist. I loved his scent. He smelled like he sprayed Hugo Boss all over him.
"Well, I think it's time to go." He said.
"You noticed that only now?" I asked playfully rolling my eyes.
He let go of my waist, replacing it with my hand, intertwining his fingers with mine. We both looked at each other, his stormy gray eyes shining by the moon. It feels like I was dreaming.
"I really need to go." He said.
"But I don't want you to." I replied.
"Me neither."
We walked to his car. "Bye Mrs. Cupcake."
"Bye Jerkpid." I replied. He was about to jump unto his seat when I held his arm.
"Wait." I said. He turned to me.
"What is it?" He asked. I put my arms on his neck and put my lips to his. He kissed back. We were in that position for a while.
"Okay... You know that your going to see my tomorrow right? Tomorrow's a Friday." He asked.
I blinked. "Oh. I thought tomorrow is a Saturday."
He chuckled. "I gotta go. My parents are going to kill me."
"Bye, see you tomorrow?"
"Yeah, bye." He buckled his seatbelt.
"And Luke...?" I called out. He turned to me, waiting for me to speak. "Take care of the project, don't destroy it."
"Of course. I won't." He gave me a smirk(that wasn't assuring) and drove off. I smiled and went back to the 00.
"How's the project?" Shane asked, the moment I entered.
"We're almost done, but some more improvements." I grabbed a cookie from the counter.
"Nice, so did it go well?" He asked, following me and sat by a chair, leaning on the counter table.
"Yeah."
"Savanna, I need to tell you something." He called out, his expression was serious as he looked at the floor. It was like he was thinking.
"Okay, fire away." I said. He then turned to me.
"I'm leaving you two alone." He said.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Choose wisely, Savanna. Remember your friend that you kissed on the rooftop?" He asked.
"I don't know where this is leading to." I said truthfully.
"Just answer the darn question!" He said, making me gulp. He really gets scary when his angry.
"Um... Yes, I remember." I said.
"He loves you so much, Savanna, more than anyone I've known." He said.
Sam...
I didn't know what to say.
"He may not have attended the Masquerade Ball, so what?" He said. "He has his own reasons."
"What reason?" I spat out bitterly.
"I had a talk with Sam while you were doing your project with Luke." He said. "He said that he became grounded and was never able to go to school. And you became angry at him for a simple reason and now you repay him by dating Luke." He shook his head disapprovingly. "That is unfair, Savanna, very unfair. Why didn't you at least hear his side?" He asked.
"I tried... but I needed time, Shane." I said.
"All I'm saying is choose wisely, Savanna. This isn't for me, this is for you." He said and before going up to his room he said,"By the way, meet him at the school's courtyard."
I rested my head on my palms. I don't know what to do. Every step I take, everything just gets harder and harder. My cookie didn't seem tasty anymore.
I have to choose. Luke or Sam.
Should I choose Luke, the arrogant bastard that never fails to make you happy.
Or Sam, the sweet kindhearted guy who stood by my side and always comforts me when I'm sad.
Why Sam? Why did you have to make things harder?
