Chapter 33Savanna's POV
"Oh f*ck." I cursed as the books from my locker fell. I looked around if anyone paid attention to me.
No one. Good.
"I didn't know you were clumsy."
I jumped, making my head hit the door of my locker. I fell to the floor, rubbing my hand on the sore spot of my head.
"Really clumsy."
I shook my head and put all the books that fell in the locker one by one.
"Can you at least say 'hi'?" I asked as I closed the door and turned around.
"Hi." He simply said.
"As you could see, I'm really having a bad day." I said, frowning.
"I could see that." He said, giving me a smirk. "But isn't it Friday? Everyone loves a Friday."
"What the heck do you want Sam?"
"Didn't Shane tell you to meet me?" He asked as if stating the obvious.
"Yeah. But he told me to meet you at the school's courtyard. I'm pretty sure that he didn't mention that you'd appear randomly." I said, folding my arms.
He chuckled. "Well, here I am." He spread out his hands.
"What do you want again?" I asked, tapping my foot impatiently. I still hate Sam a little, but to be honest, I miss him.
"I'm going to take you somewhere." He said.
"Where somewhere?" I asked.
A smile tugged at the corner of his lips. "You'll see."
We went out of the school's main door, when Sam bent down, getting something from his backpack. He got out two penny boards and set it on the ground.
"I-I don't think I know how..." I trailed off. I tried to ride on a skateboard before but failed miserably.
"It's just easy." He said. "Remember the time you used a skateboard once?"-he didn't wait for me to answer-"It's just the same, only it's easier." Before I could utter a word, he skated along the sidewalk, leaving me here with a penny board.
"I hope you're a nice little thing." I muttered to the penny board. I glided off carefully, almost falling and reached Sam. After a few minutes, I got the hang of it.
"Are you good?" Sam asked, beside me.
"Yeah, kind of. What do you think?" I said, skating along.
"I think you're doing great." He raced up forward, leaving me-once again-behind. What's with this guy and leaving me?
Okay, that sounded painful. I bit my lip. I don't want to relive the most painful memories of the past. Shane was right. So what if he left me in the ball? If it weren't for Sam, I wouldn't have been dating Luke.
Luke...
Now, come on! Why when I'm with Luke, I want Sam. Now that I am with Sam, I'm wanting Luke. I really have to choose on which one. I hate reverse psychology. It makes things harder.
My life is so complicated, every step I take seems to be a mistake. What if this one is a mistake-
I shook my head. After every trial-whether good or bad-, I would learn. When love came to my life, I became more and more confused, in front of crossroads all the time, choosing the choices I think is right. If I wasn't in love...
Gosh, I'm dealing these things right now, when I'm supposed to be having fun.
"Earth to Savanna." Sam snapped. I blinked and stared down at the pavement blankly.
"You were saying?" I asked.
He sighed. "You think too much... Part of having a not-so-good day?" He guessed.
I like this part of Sam, always concerned and asking me these questions. I sighed. "Yeah, but I'm bracing myself for fun." I looked at him with a small smile. "I know that we're going to a erm... Let me see..." I looked at the sky above. "Ice Skating!" I guessed.
"No." He said.
"Horse-back riding!" I exclaimed, making a few people look at our direction.
"Did you ever notice the fact that I hate horses?" He asked.
I ignored him. "A trip at the zoo."
"Wrong guess..." He smiled. "If we go there, I think that it won't be considered as a date."
"Hey, that's possible!" I frowned. "I'm really running out of ideas here..." I thought hard. "Stargazing somewhere."
"Once in a blue moon." He replied.
"Go to a party." I guessed.
"Nope, do you think I look like I have party clothes?"
"Picnic on a hill."
"No, that's a little late for that." He said.
I furrowed my eyebrows. "Ride a dinosaur!" I spat sarcastically. I am really running out ideas here. What other date could there be?
He chuckled. "Nope, just wait, you'll see."
We strolled some more until there was a lot of noise. "Is that...?" I didn't finish. In front of us were walls that formed a circle, probably fifty hectares or so in diameter. On top of the entrance, just in front of us was an arch that read: Carnival
"Yes, it is." He gave me a smile.
"Please don't tell me we are going to ride a freaking roller coaster and a Twister." I said, still stunned at the view in front of me.
"Actually no, I'm going to go to more fun rides." He winked at me. Oh gosh, just from that statement, I sensed trouble. This guy is immune to anything scary. He never gets scared.
We went further into the carnival, the penny boards in Sam's backpack. "Which ride first?" I asked, getting nervous. I'd probably puke any minute now.
"I'll go easy on you. First, Bumper Cars." He said, looking at the left. I followed his gaze.
"Bumper Cars it is." I said and gulped. Please don't let me ride a Viking nor a roller coaster and don't make me go inside a freaking Haunted House.
