Chapter 31
Savanna's POV
I'm really not enjoying this but Shane's expression seems otherwise.
We were eating altogether along with Luke and my family. My mom keeps on babbling embarrassing things.
"So, Luke, how do you like the food?" Mom asked, narrowing her eyes at him. Luke swallowed the food he was previously chewing and wiped his mouth with a napkin.
"It's really amazing!" He exclaimed. He kind of sounded uneasy talking to my mom. "I didn't know you could cook a pasta this good!" I held his hand from underneath the table.
My mom giggled at the compliment. "Well, actually, I asked for help from my daughter."
"Really?" Luke said, though he had an amused tone, probably having some things in his mind. "Next time, I'm going to ask her to bake pie for me."
My mom chuckled. "I remember the time when-"
"Mom!" I exclaimed.
She gave me an innocent look. "What? I haven't even said anything yet."
I shook my head. "Don't say anything embarrassing, please!"
She gave an innocent look. "What? You didn't even know what I was going to say."
"I'm going to do what Luke and I were supposed to do; to do our project." I said, exasperated.
I pushed my chair backwards and went to the stairs, Luke did the same.
He got a bag that he was carrying awhile ago, that was probably for our project. I ran up to my room, my foot pounding on the floor, making thumping noises.
I finally got to my room, which after a few seconds, Luke was beside me.
"Your room looks cool." He stated, dropping his bag unto the floor.
"Um... thanks." I replied, feeling a bit nervous. What if Shane was right. What if--
I shook those thoughts away. There was no turrning back.
"So, let's get started." Luke said. We both sat on the floor. He got out his materials and placed it in between us.
Thank you Lord, for making him place something in between us.
Whut?
"First, we have to make a rectangle of this illustration board, that signifies as space." He explained as he showed the illustration board and a pair of scissors. He got out a ruler. "It's length should be three meters long, and its width..." He began to think, staring at the ceiling. "2 and a half meters wide."
I nodded. I didn't have the feels to do this project, it was the first time I felt responsible.
He pushed aside the materials not needed yet and started to work on the project.
"Can you erm.. pass the ruler?" I asked. I found him more charming when he had that pencil on his ear. It makes me find him more dedicated to hardwork. It made me admire him more.
He passed the ruler. I tried to get it but he didn't let go. He had a smirk plastered on his face.
"Not if you get it." He said in a playful tone. He's so bipolar! First he was being the serious hardworking guy, now, he's being playful!
I tried to get it but he kept on teasig me by shifting the ruler from his left to the right, placing it behind his back. I sighed.
I finally got it in my hands, when I realized Luke's strategy but I kept on tugging it, failing to get it miserably.
