Chapter 1: Beginning

(Aris POV)

As I flung my pencil off my desk, the school bells rang for all of us to go to lunch. I closed my science book and picked my pencil up. "Class, don't forget to read pages 34-38! We have a worksheet on that tomorrow!" exclaimed our teacher. Nobody answered though. I was about to walk out to the hallway but I was stopped.

"Wait Aris!" my teacher yelled, "Sorry, I know you're hungry but in four weeks this school is doing there first science fair in 5 year's and I thought you might like to join the club?" She handed me a pamphlet to join the science club for the fair. "Uhm sure, what do i have to create?" I asked. She smiled, "It can be anything! But you have to make it yourself, and blow Mr. Flight's mind away!" I looked the the pamphlet again. Mr. Flight was our principle.

"Sure I'm in," I exclaimed. She looked extravagant at me. I walked out of the class and put my binder in my locker. This was my first year in high school so I'm still learning about it. I grabbed the pamphlet and headed off to lunch.

~Time skip~

After a few minutes of eating my lunch and reading the pages, I started sketching my ideas into my mind. I got so carried away, I almost forgot to eat my food.

Once I had all my ideas in my head I jotted them down on a scrap piece of paper. It read,

* Glowing clock for at night
* A switch next to your bed that turns the lights off because ur too lazy to get up
* An app that sketches your face out to make self portraits easier
* An infinite backpack
* Non sweaty gym bag
* ...

Nothing. Nothing came to mind. It's hard to come up with ideas when you're forced.

I threw my leftover food away and headed out to the playground. Once I got there I sat down on some benches and tried to think of more ideas. Spoiler alert, nothing came to mind.

~Time skip bc I'm lazy~

I ran upstairs and flopped onto my bed. I threw my bag on to the ground and exhaled. 9th grade is exhausting, especially when all of your teachers are expecting a lot from you. I am the youngest but smartest in my grade.

How am I the smartest? I have no friends. I don't need friends. All I need is my room. My room is my safe place, I also have a computer to code anything onto a hard drive I want.

I forgot to mention my family is rich. Filthy rich, but when you're the middle child things are different. I have three siblings, one older and two younger. You would think that the older siblings would get all of the priority but you would be wrong. My two younger sisters have all of the priority in the house. They can do anything they want and our parents would just brush it off. Ever since our dad won the lottery, things have not been the same.

My youngest sisters name is Sarah, she is the most spoiled in the family and is only 7. My second youngest sister is 11 and less spoiled but also has the biggest room in the house besides the master, her name is Chloe. Last and least, my oldest sister, Charlotte, she is 16. Charlotte gets just as much priority as me. We also share a room even though we live in a mansion. She is never home though because she has to work at a fast food restaurant.

Because I'm surrounded by all female siblings, I get a lot of peer pressure for doing stupid things with them. The only one in my family who actually enjoys my attention is my grandma. She tells me the ins and outs of the family.

As I was about to fall asleep onto my bed I was shooken awake by Chloe. Once I opened my eyes I saw her tears flowing down her face. I sighed, "What happened?"

She sniffles and said, "S-S- Sarah hit me because- i borrowed her Barbie's-" I sighed, "Aren't you a little old to be playing with Barbies?" I asked. "No." she said forcefully. "Why don't you just go make it up to her by giving it back?" I asked. "That's not going to work Aris!" she yelled. "Just give it a try," I said laying back down.

After I heard her leave my room I started snoozing off. Before I fell completely asleep I was woken up by rattling in my room. I opened my eyes to find Sarah rummaging though my backpack.

"What are you doing?" I asked sitting up fast. She looked at me and said, "If Chloe can look and steel my things then I can look and steel your things too." "That's not how it works," I said yawning.

"What's this?" she said pulling out a paper. My heart dropped. I hope this wasn't what I thought it was. She opened up the crunched sketch paper and gasped. "Oh no," I thought. "Give me that you little rat!" I yelled snatching it out of her hands. I looked at the paper and almost died of embarrassment.

It was a drawing of my crush. I have only recently started fantasizing about her though.

"YOU HAVE A GIRLFRIEND!" she yelled. "SHHHH-" I said covering her mouth. She looked around the room before I uncovered her. "What's her name!" she asked with a pumped up attitude. I groaned, "Her name is Jocie, BUT WE ARE NOT DATING."

She squealed and jumped around the room. Then suddenly she ran out the room. "WAIT" I yelled but got no response.

I'm so screwed.
