Chapter 15: The truth

(Aris POV)

I haven't showered in about a week. It's not that I'm gross, it's just that I dont have the energy to actually clean myself.

As I turned the water on, a cool breeze hit me.

I took off my shirt and pants leaving me in my black boxers. I never realized how skinny I was. I slowly ran my fingers down my chest feeling the bumped texture of my ribs.

After a few seconds of scanning myself in the mirror, I took off my boxers and hopped into the steamy hot shower.

I whinced at the first touch but then immediately gave into the warm feeling. I closed my eyes as I let the warm water run down my pale body. (Me rn 😭😒)

I stood there for a few minutes  before I actually started washing my hair.

(This is too cringy for me to write 💀)

~Time skip~

The cool air hit me as I stepped out into the hall way in my new clothes.

I walked into Jocie's room and gasped.

Entie was getting tummy rubs on her bed by her.

They both look at me like I was intruding.

"What the hell is going on?!" I yelled.

She glanced at me and said, "I never knew you had an Enti-mon. Explains a lot."

I let out a scoff, "Yeah it's not something I typically share..."

She laughed and looked me up and down, "You look a lot better now."

I glanced at her clothes cabinet see my blue pocket knife laying on it. I reached for it but was then slapped by Jocie.

She grabbed the knife and said, "You don't get this until you tell me whats going on." I scoffed again, "Are you serious?! You should be the one telling me the truth!"

"Don't make me tie you up again..."

I scoffed and sat down on her chair.

"Why are you not afraid of Entie?"

She glanced at me, "It's- a long story..."

"Well as you said a few minutes ago, 'wE hAvE  a cOuPle HoUrS sO Go aHeaD!'" I mimicked.

I thought she would have smiled but she blankly stared at the floor.

"Please, tell me the truth."

She sighed and then started her store.

"Niki and I weren't always siblings. In fact, we've never been siblings." She stopped.

"Why do you call her your sister then?" I asked. She glared at me, "Do you want me to tell the truth or not?!?"

"Sorry, Sorry, go ahead."

"Anyways," she continued, "Niki hasn't always been my sibling... And... She hasn't always been human either..."

I gasped.

"She... Was my- ..." she let out a deep sigh, "She was my Enti-mon mon."

The room went silent. Entie and I were both extremely intrigued.

"She was my best friend. We did everything together. Almost got arrested. We were... Truly inseparable."

She started tearing up and sniffling, "Sorry- I'm just-...ughh"

"I started, breaking rules... And sneaking out..." she wiped her tears away. "Then... We got caught- by the- people she told me not to get caught by..."

"What did they do to you..?" I asked trembling.

She looked up at me not moving her head, it look like she was still petrified.

"I was kidnapped and they put me through lots and lots of pain trying to remove her from my mind." She paused.

"I eventually convinced them I had no memory of her and they let me go."

"Months passed and I grew weaker. It was almost as if I lost a family member. But one day... I saw a helpless girl on the street looking for me. I knew at first glance that it was Niki, my Enti-mon."

I couldn't even describe this feeling. It was a mix of surprise, guilt, shock, pain, and regret.

"You've already bonded with your Enti-mon too long... They are coming for you, and they know where you are. If I were you, I would split town and never stop running..." I started tearing up.

She handed me back my switchblade. I looked at in in shock.

"Never stop running." She echoed through my head.
