  Memories: Maroon 5

"Thanks for the help. You don't have to." Clark tells me as we shovel hay in the barn.

"You kidding? It's always been my dream to shovel hay." I inquire. "But shoveling it with you? We're getting into what we call a nightmare."

He scoffs. "Yeah?"

"Yeah."

"Okay." He throws some hay on me.

I gasp and turn my head. "You're dead."

"Am I?"

"Yeah." I grab a fistful of hay and pull his shirt, then shoving it inside. "Ah." I exhale with a grin and then dump a bucket of hay over his head. "Like a scarecrow. 6'3 version. Hey, scarecrow. Sound familiar?" I raise my eyebrows and go back to shoveling the hay before more is dumped on me. "Kent!" I drop my pitchfork and he starts to laugh. "This isn't over." I dust the hay off me.

Clark keeps laughing. "Seems like it is to me."

"Far from it." I dust off my shoulders.

"Here, let me." He chuckles before pulling some hay out of my hair, then pushing the strands behind my ear.

"Death and it's going to be painful." I playfully swipe his arm down.

"Hope we're not interrupting." Miles walks over with Lana.

"Make this fast. I don't want you guys to witness first degree murder." I point my pitchfork at Clark and he scoffs before stepping back.

Lana laughs. "Chloe told me you were farm-bound all week."

"Yeah, my dad's cardiologist sent him to Metropolis for more tests, so we're pulling double duty." Clark tells her.

"I thought he was getting better."

"He is. But when your heart's been through something like that, the scars don't magically disappear." I continue shoveling.

"No. No, I guess they don't." Lana replies.

"But I'm sure you guys didn't come all this way just to admire my stall-mucking abilities."

"I think there's something wrong with Lex. We were dropping off the Talon payroll, and we found him out on the ledge, screaming for someone named Julian." Miles informs and I stop shoveling.

"What is it, Brianna?" Lana asks. "Clark?"

"Julian was the name of Lex's baby brother. He died of SIDS when Lex was a kid. Did he give you any kind of explanation?" I question.

"No. He shrugged it off as a bad dream."

"The last time Lex had a breakdown, we found him over there." Clark points to the side of the barn.
