- Ge?!? – Lan Xichen raised an eyebrow.
Something in the tone of voice with which the boy was calling him "Brother" had changed, apart from the honorific, which had also grown one more degree to be more familiar. – Did you...? Did you two...?!? – he exclaimed excitedly now.
He knew too well what that change in name meant! A-Xian was considering him his own brother, not just a respected older brother. Which could only mean one thing... Well, two things!
Had those two eloped, for real?!
But why was he pouting so?!
- Yes. Wangji proposed and I said "yes". – the boy grumbled unhappily.
Lan Wangji appeared at the door too, drying his hands in a kitchen cloth, sulking.
- Ge. – he mumbled quite unhappily too.
Lan Xichen was looking at the one, then at the other, far too amazed and speechless.
- Ummm... I am not too sure how this shit works... but... I am ready to bet a good amount of money that the two of you should be pretty happy right now!!! – he grinned smugly.
- Yea... Yay. - Wei Wuxian rolled his eyes and flung himself on the sofa again, wincing at the pull under his ribs.
- Di? – Lan Huan was truly confused. – Congrats??? – he exclaimed, unsure.
- Yea. – Lan Zhan grumbled too. – Do you want some coffee? Food will be ready in 15 minutes.
Lan Xichen relaxed in his favorite armchair again, now staring at the two of them judgingly. He knew that his Di needed something to occupy his hands with, something to do, when he was nervous, bothered.
- Sureeee. – his deep voice trailed. – Get me a cup of coffee, little brother.
Wei Ying was blushing, avoiding Lan Xichen's searching eyes. He had imagined breaking the news to his future brother-in-law in a very different manner. He felt grateful, though, that Lan Huan wasn't asking questions – he was pretty sure he was dying to!
- Here, Ge.
Lan Wangji handed the cup over, all flushed too; he had no idea what this was all about – he didn't know what his Ge was here for, but he remembered vividly the way he had stormed all over that stranger's car the other day, and the way his Ge had laughed at him for pulling Wei Ying out of it, as if he was helping him escape from prison.
He was ashamed of himself now; it had been childish of him.
Why was he being so childish when it came to Wei Wuxian?!
It was so vexing, and even more so because he had no explanation. He had no previous relationships to compare it to. And today... He didn't know what it meant. Today he had had just to listen to it, when Wei Ying compared their love to that terrible past relationship with Jenny of all people! He didn't know how he was supposed to act and feel, but he knew for sure that he didn't like it.
