    Wen Ning was watching her drink her cup of tea furiously now. How could there be so much fury in such a small woman? Women (in general) were a true mystery to him, and the fact that his own sister was pretty much the same did not help, at all.
    - I think I'll have a beer.  –  she scoffed now, as the tea was done.
    - Ummm, I cannot serve you that until I know the test results, Miss.  –  he frowned.
    - Don't "Miss" me, Mister!  –  she hissed at him, not too pleased with someone – anyone!  –  opposing her.  –  Just hit me!
    - Ummm, I'm sorry, but no, Miss.  –  he pouted seriously now, crossing his arms in front of his chest.
    Amazed, A-Li raised both her eyebrows.
    - Where's Bobby?! He would serve me anything I want! He knows my... ugh... my boyfriend well, and he knows it's not a good idea to get me angry!!!  –  she shouted at him, making a couple of clients turn their heads, curious, and stare at them.
    Wen Ning huffed:
    - As a doctor, I cannot allow you to have any alcohol if you you're pregnant! 
    She, of course, glared at him, intensely, but he seemed so unaffected that  –  finally!  –  she gave it up, and hissed:
    - I'll make sure you get fired. Today.  Hit me, boy!
    - No. My job is in no way nearly as important as a future life. An innocent life.
    He stared back at her with such seriousness, so solemnly, that she shuddered. 
    Who was this kid? Defending someone he didn't even know? Defending so fiercely someone who wasn't even born? Was this what a true healer should be? Defending life,  in all its forms?
    She bit her lips, mood shifting, and plunged her hand shyly in her pocket. She had no idea why she had kept... this.
    To his amazement, the young woman, sitting across him, blushed now and took a small plastic stick from out of her pocket, raising her arm, so that the piece was almost in his nose now. He stared, his eyes comically coming together at the top of his nose, which made A-Li laugh.
    The pregnancy test was positive.
    As if death (and unemployment)  threats had not just been thrown in his face just a second ago, A-Ning now smiled a genuine smile and murmured:
    - Congratulations. There is no greater joy than a baby, young Miss.
    - Call me A-Li, moron.  –  she grumbled, but blushed severely.
    Still smiling, Wen Ning left her for a moment and moved behind the counter to grab a cool bottle of beer  –  a non-alcoholic one.
    - Here. Do you need a----
    She grabbed the bottle and drank off it thirstily.
    - ....a glass...?   –  he mumbled, a little too late.
