Tonight, the wind was howling outside, but the house was absolutely silent.
Wei Ying was snoring lightly, far too hot now, sleeping naked next to him, far too tired after all the hectic emotions that day.
But Lan Wangji could not sleep. He generally slept badly in any other bed but his own; it was an anxiety thing.
For the longest time he watched his lover's peaceful face, the way he was sleeping deeply, innocently, and the way his hands were stretched out, seeking him, always, in the darkness of the room, under the beams of the cold moon.
They didn't really talk about it tonight, but both somehow assumed that they wouldn't be making love here, now – it was somebody else's house, after all.
"I wonder, is he disappointed?" – Lan Wangji thought inside his feverish brain. – "After all, it was supposed to be our wedding night... Uh, such a mess! Ge!"
He needed to talk to him. He had to.
There was something more. Something was off.
Something was missing.
He was missing something.

Removing Wei Ying's arms from his chest carefully, biting his lips guiltily, Lan Zhan got out of bed, and quietly stepped out of the room. He was wearing just his briefs – this house was always so damn warm! – but he was not worried. There was no one to really see him.Wrong.
Hearing the noise, and also quite unable to sleep, Brent slid out of his room almost immediately, a gun in his hand, tense and at the ready.
Wangji gasped, and then almost squealed when he saw him in the dim light of the lamps in the corridor.
- Go back to bed, moron! – he hissed.
- Are you OK, sir? – Brent relaxed right away, and just asked quietly, totally unfazed to see the almost-naked young boy now. What he found more amusing was the great similarity between this reaction, and Mister Jiang's reaction, in the past, in the same situation.
- Bathroom. - he hissed again, annoyed.
Just a nod, and the bulky blonde closed the door to his room quietly behind his back.
- This house... I swear... Ughhh...
Lan Wangji was mumbling to himself as he was climbing up the stairs to the second floor. He knew where A-Huan's bedroom was, too well.
He approached carefully, mindlessly, and just slowly pressed the handle of the door down, opening it absolutely noiselessly.
- Ge?
He entered, and closed the door in the same way, sneaking closer to the bed, waiting for his eyes to get adjusted to the blacker darkness in this bedroom. The light of the lamps in the corridors resembled candlelight in intensity, and they had left the curtains open apart in their room, but here... in the master bedroom, the curtains were carefully let down, and the darkness was intense, thick.
