Milli.

If there's anything that I've grown to hate over the years it's parties. That and parsley.

I used to be so excited to go to a party. I felt like I must have done something right to be invited. And not to sound cocky about it, but it doesn't make a difference anymore if I'm invited. People know me—or they think they know me. They know I'm in with the it people, and I'm probably friends with someone they know or like.

Yet after spending the last week with Sunwoo my feelings have only grown. And being with him has reminded me that these people at these parties are backseat friends. The friends that you'd talk with and be close while sitting in the backseat of a car, but as soon as you get out, they leave.

"Hey." Sunwoo opens his door.

My smile fades when I see him.

"Sunwoo it's a Christmas party!" I say.

He's wearing black on black, like always.

"I know." He answers.

"So why are you dressed for Halloween?"

"Are they gonna kick me out if I'm not wearing the dress code or something?" He asks.

"No, you'll just stick out like a sore thumb." I say. "Here." I take the matching scarf to my sweater off and I place it around his neck.

I smile, because I've never seen him in bright green and red before with glittery snowflakes.

"Is it a look?" Sunwoo asks.

"Definitely." I grin. "It's the one."

I see the tiniest smile appear on his face.

"Oh I have something for you!" I say. I take a bag out of my tote and hand it to him.

"You didn't have to." Sunwoo says.

"Open it!"

Sunwoo takes out a notebook and meets eyes with me. "Thanks." He says shortly.

I laugh, "write more music." I say. "I want you to remember why you love it."

Sunwoo looks down at the small notepad again, he doesn't smile but his face changes. A good change.he also takes out the cute cat keychain I got because he's always carrying his car keys with him even when he doesn't plan to drive. His eyes flicker with amusement at the keychain.

"Here." He takes a small box out of his pocket.

"Aw, thank you." I take the lid off. "It's a box... with sand."

"You don't like it?" Sunwoo asks and I quickly look up at him. His face is unreadable, per usual.

"N-NO! I love it- I love sand, how'd you know??" I say immediately.

"Ha." Sunwoo's lips turn up into a smile. His eyes form into the cutest crescents as he lets out a soft laugh. It sounds like a breath of fresh air to me, and I wish he'd do it more often.

"What?" I say.

"I'm teasing." He answers. "There's something in the sand."

"Hey!" I lightly smack his arm.

"You really were about to risk it all for that sand."

"W-well how could I sound disappointed when you looked like that?" I ask.

"Looked like what?"

Like a cute raccoon anticipating my next move.

I don't answer, and I gently push the sand to the edge of the box with my finger. There's something gold. There's a ring in here, and there's a gold pendant on it, with a delicate pattern engraved on the edge.
