milli.

I don't wear black. When my mom was alive she'd always tell me that when the time came to attend her funeral in a lavender purple. I would ask her why, and isn't that disrespectful. She would shake her head, and simply respond that she loves purple, and would have wanted to see me in her favorite color.

So I do. I wear a knee length dress; it's light lavender with sleeves that are long and flowy. When they blow in the wind it looks like the ocean waves.

My hair is down and my usual hopeful eyes are gone. I woke up like a different person, like the person I was right after the crash. Hopeless. Powerless.

I hear a knock at my door and I furrow my eyebrows, wondering who could be up at 6 in the morning.

I open it and I blink to see if Sunwoo is really there.

"Hey." He says quietly, nearly a whisper.

"What are you doing here?" I ask, I didn't mean for it to come out so pushy, it just did, and Sunwoo immediately knows what's wrong.

"I'm here to drive you."

"Oh... I usually just drive myself." I say, I attempt to smile at him but my face doesn't cooperate.

"Mills, please, the roads are soaked from the rain last night, I don't want the car to slide." Sunwoo says.

I wince, because that's how it happened. But at the same time I don't really care if the car were to slide or not, as long as it's just me in it.

"Thanks, but im fine." I brush past him and I shut my door.

"Milli." He grabs my wrist and turns me back to him. "Don't be stubborn, I've already made up my mind."

"Sunwoo I said, im fine." I repeat.

"Well im not, and I won't be all day while im imagining the worst." He says. "And besides, I got these." Sunwoo holds out four lilies, bundled up by some twine string.

"You didn't have to." I say.

"Pay me back by letting me come."

".... Okay," I give up, just wanting to leave now. Sunwoo carries the flowers down the elevator and to the parking lot where my car is.
"Did you know those are the flowers of funerals?" I offer.

"Yeah. I looked it up." He answers.

We get into my car and as soon as I turn it on I sigh. "Dammit," I say under my breath.

Sunwoo whips his head at me. "What?"

"Not enough gas to get there," I groan. "I should have thought of this before."

"All good." Sunwoo says.

"No, it's not all good." I say firmly and I feel awful for saying that but all I can think about is getting there.

"My car is... ah fuck it's at the mechanics. The tire got slashed at a club I went to a few days ago. But we can take my motorcycle." Sunwoo says.

I sigh. I usually wouldn't want to take a bike somewhere so far, but today I have no fears at all. "Okay, thank you." I respond.

Sunwoo gets out of the car and leads me to his motorcycle filled with gas.

"Hold." He hands me the lilies and I clutch them tightly. Sunwoo swings his leg over the seat and hands me a helmet.

"You need one too," I say.

"Don't have a second one," he pats the spot behind him.

"But-"
