milli."GUys!" Jacob bursts into my room where Sora and I are watching a sad movie. "Sorry, Milli, how are you doing?"
"Jacob, it's only been a few hours how do you think she's doing??" Sora throws a pillow at him.
"No, I-I'm fine." I say, and Sora gives me a look. "Okay, I'm a little shaken up. But I'm grateful knowing it could have gotten much worse, and it didn't."
"How did Sunwoo know to go there?" Jacob sits on the bed next to me.
"I had mentioned we had a meeting with the teacher, and I guess he thought it was suspicious that he was never invited to it." I explain.
"Well where is he now?" Sora asks.
"Oh! That's what I came here for. Kevin and I got into a little argument and he walked off with Sunwoo and I saw them leave." Jacob says. "I'm worried. Kevin always tells me where he's headed off to, but not even a text."
"I know how that feels," I mutter.
"Do you know where Sunwoo was going?" Sora asks me.
"I don't know," I shrug. "He's been going to this club recently? Did Kev look like he was dressed for that?"
"YEs! It could be," Jacob stands up. "I'm going, anyone want to come with? Mills it's completely your choice."
"I'll go," I say.
"Really??" Sora asks. "Are you sure you're up for it?"
"I need to get my mind off of it." I say. Which is the partial truth, but it's also because I'm curious as to what sunwoo does when he randomly leaves.
None of us bother to change and we head directly out to my car parked in the lot. I glance around for Sunwoo's motorcycle but it's gone.
"Here," Sora shows me her phone. "Kevin just posted on insta. There's the location."
I tap it into the GPS and we head deeper into the city. It's intimidating here at night. It reminds me of that time Sunwoo and I drove across the bridge in his hometown to the city. It was rainy and chaotic, but one of the best days of my life.
As soon as Jacob opens the door for Sora and I, the music fills my ears and the LED lights blind me.
"Should we split up??" Sora asks.
"No! Have you seen any adventure movie ever?" Jacob asks.
"Okay, I'll go left you two go right," Sora says and disappears amongst the jumping people.
"Well then," Jacob says. "Guess it's just you and me."
"Yeah," I say, and I turn my head and I freeze when I see him. Not Kevin, Sunwoo. He's sitting on a black couch surrounded by girls in short dresses and heels. There's a drink in his hand and many empty glasses on the table in front of him. Sunwoo is still wearing that same black shirt, though it's completely unbuttoned now. His legs are spread wide, taking up a lot of room in the couch.
I barely recognize him. He's still his usual not-smiling self, despite the girls around him talking and laughing with each other. But I've never seen him so....hopeless. His eyes look dead and he's staring off into space, taking long sips of alcohol.
"I have to see someone," I murmur to Jacob and I slowly inch passed the people and towards Sunwoo's area.
He doesn't see me yet, clearly, because the girl on his left swings her legs onto his thigh and presses a long kiss on his cheek. She giggles and smears the red print from her lipstick on his face.
