The beginning

Maddi's POV:

It happened on what seemed like just another day. I was sitting in my chair at my dad's working on my art, the usual routine, when my phone started playing Sherlock by Shinee.

"Shinee's back. Shinee's back." I didn't recognize the number, but I answered it anyways.

"Moshimoshi, ogenki desu ka?"

"Um, Hello. Is Madison Curry there?"

"This is she." I wonder who this lady is? Probably a college offer of something.

"Hi. My name is Sandra Hoover from S.M. Entertainment. I was wondering if you were interested in flying to California to join the Kpop band called Exo-K?"

"Exo-K?" Was she fucking serious?

"Yes. As it says here in my documents, you were the winner of the Secret Band Contest and the band that you get to join is Exo-K. We would be happy if you accepted."

"..Exo-K..." I couldn't get my brain to focus on what she was telling me.

"Yes. Exo-K is a...." I zoned out her voice as reality hit me hard in the face.

"I would love to!" She continued congratulating me as my mind raced though this impossible chance. Meeting Exo-K, being in a Kpop band, fame, Asians, and Kai. Mmmm... Kai.

Her voice slowly came back to my attention. "So the plane will pick you up at 8:00am tomorrow morning."

"Tomorrow?!?!" She was kidding right?

"Yes. We would like you here as soon as possible. That won't be a problem, will it?"

"No, of course not. Thank you so much! You won't be disappointed."

"I hope not. See you soon. Bye."

"Bye." When I hung up, I screamed my lungs out. My dad rushed in looking confused.

"Are you ok?!"

"I'm going to California to be in Exo-K!!!" *Screams* My dad just looked at me crazily and left. I raced to my room and started packing for my new life ahead. I couldn't wait to finish packing to text my friends Kerry, Taylor, and Courtney. After my message sent to them all explaining everything so they didn't have questions, I called my closer friend Deonne.

It rung three times. "Heyyo?" She sounded tired.

"Hey girl. Are you ok? You sound exhausted."

"Yeah, just another sleepless night and now to get ready for work. What you up to?"

"Packing. I'm moving to California." I said it as if I was fine with leaving all my friends, but inside laughter was building up.

"Moving?! But why?!"

I couldn't hold it in anymore. "Because I won the Secret Band Contest!! Guess what band I get to be apart of."

"OMG thats awesome! Erm... let's see. BTOB? Block B? Big Bang? TVXQ? B.A.P?? Girl if you are in B.A.P I am so going to kill you, take your place, and live happily ever after with them all." Deonne was such a BABY. I rolled my eyes.

"Wow, of course it would be the band you wouldn't mention."

"OMG! Is it Exo-K??!?!?!"

"YESSS!!!"

"OMG!!" *Fan girl scream* "You're sooooo lucky!!"

"I know right?!?!"

"Well, I have to go to work soon. When do you leave?"

"Tomorrow morning."

"Ok. Call me, text me, and video chat me constantly! I'll miss you! I love you! Saranghae!!"

"Otay. Love you too! Bye!"

"Bye!"

After I hung up with Deonne, I called my mom to give her the news.

"Hello."

"Hey mom. I'm going to Cali. for a while, honestly I don't know how long I'll be gone, but it is for a good reason."

"And what if I say no?"

"I'll still go. This is a 'once in a lifetime' opportunity. I'm not going to give it up easily or at all for that matter."

"Well ok then. I can't stop you. Just be careful and I love you. Bye."

"Bye."

That was weird. My mom didn't nag me or anthing. Oh well. I didn't have time to think about my mom. I needed to pack! What should I bring? What should I wear?! Usually it doesn't really bother me on what I was wearing, but I was meeting Exo-K! Even more important, I was meeting the one and only Kai! OMG! What to wear?!?!
