The Interview and Dinner

Kai's POV:

Finally the day has come to introduce Maddi as the new Exo-K member. About time, I have been waiting impatiently for this day. Why? Because then we can go back to Seoul with our new member. Not that there was anything wrong with America, I just really missed home.

We were in our dressing rooms getting ready for the interview. They had specific clothes they wanted us to wear, I wasn't sure but I didn't mind. Most my clothes were pretty sexy.

Maddi was in our dressing rooms with us. We would think that it would be separated by a wall, but it was separated by a curtain, because the MTV people didn't get the message of our new member being a girl.

“Exo-K you are on in five minutes.” Well here we go. I looked over at a nervous Maddi.

“Hey Maddi, don’t sweat it ok. You’re going to do great.” She smiled a little, but it faltered a bit.

“What if they don’t like me Kai? What if I ruin Exo-K.”

“You won’t ruin Exo-K. If our fans want to blame anyone, it should be our manager. He wanted this, besides you are amazing.” She blushed at that. I took her hand and lead her outside. I wanted to hold her hand through the whole thing, but then people would think we were together, which we weren’t. Not yet anyways. The fans probably wouldn’t like us if we were together.

I slowly let go of her hand as we entered the stage. She looked at me sadly. Ugh I feel bad now, but I needed to make sure our fans were happy. I turned to the fans smiling and bowing. The stage wasn’t as big as I thought it would be. There were seven chairs in two rows, four in the back and three in the front. Then a couple feet away were two more chairs, one for the host and the other for a Korean translator.

“Welcome Exo-K! We are so happy to have you hear.” I didn’t pay attention to the translator so I could study English better. We all stood in front of our chairs, Sehun, Suho, Chanyeol and D.O. in the back, Baekhyun, Maddi, and I in the front. Maddi was closer to the host and I was sitting next to her with Baekhyun on my right.

“We are Exo-K!” We bowed again and sat down. The host smiled at us and the fans screamed. Wow I didn’t really expect so many American fans. Most our songs are in Korean. Can they even understand them?

“Yes, yes. Welcome, welcome. How are you guys.” We all nodded and murmured some “goods” and “greats.” “So, we are here to talk about Exo-K’s new member. Is this her? Wow she is beautiful. Hello, what is your name?”

Maddi’s POV:

“My name is Madison Curry, but please call me Maddi.” I smiled still nervous as hell. I could barely breathe.

“Well Maddi, tell us about yourself. What was your life before and after joining Exo-K?” I looked down at my hands. Don’t be nervous. You can do this. I looked back up at the host. I don’t even remember his name.

“Well, I am 17 years old and will be 18 in August. I lived in Salina, Kansas and was a senior at Salina South High School. I had a couple friends but talked to a lot of people. I love art. It is my life. I also love science. My life was that of a regular, nerdy girl. I went to the art studio to help out, I went to anime club to have fun, and I listened to a lot Kpop with my friend Deonne. After moving to California to be with Exo-K, a lot of things changed. I used to play Dance Central all the time, now I dance every day. It’s fun, but way harder than some video game. I stretched out and made my vocal cords stronger. I’ve grown so close to these guys in such a short period of time. I am an only child and now living with six boys, well it’s a nut house, but they are definitely the brothers I never wanted or got.”

The crowd, along with the host, translator, and other members laughed. They loved me.

“Well can we hear a little of your voice. Do you guys want to hear her sing?” The host and crowd started chanting. “Sing! Sing! Sing!” Sing.. me? I don’t know if I can do it in front of so many people. I felt my leg being squeezed and looked over at Kai smiling at me.

“You can do it,” he whispered. I nodded and took a deep breath.

“Ok. I will sing for you guys one of my favorite American songs. I am going to sing Hero by Enrique Iglesias.” The crowd awh’ed at the song title. I took a deep breath again and looked down for a few seconds, then looked over at Kai. “Would you dance, If I asked you to dance? Would you run, And never look back? Would you cry, If you saw me crying? And would you save my soul, tonight?”Kai slowly nodded at me, I wasn’t sure if it was because he was encouraging me to keep singing or he was answering my questions. I turned to the crowd. “I can be your hero, baby. I can kiss away the pain. I will stand by you forever. You can take my breath away.”

I smiled as I finished singing. The crowd roared in applause.

“Wow Maddi that was amazing. Great song too. Well now that you are in Exo-K, you will be moving to Seoul to live out your new found dreams. Sadly, that is all we have time for today. Thank you Exo-K and good luck Maddi.” We all stood up, bowed and waved, and left the stage. I released a sigh of relief. I am so glad that was over. I can’t believe I sung in front of all those people.

I felt arms around my waist the second the audience couldn’t see us anymore. “Maddi you were awesome.” Kai’s voice vibrated against my back.

“You were so brave!” Baekhyun bounced up and down with a big fat grin on his face.

I blushed and mumbled “thanks.” I wanted to go back to the dorm and sleep. I was tired and sweaty. I needed a shower first, maybe some food too.

“How about we go out to eat to celebrate?” Sehun announced, obviously reading my mind. Everyone cheered yes and went back to the dressing room to change into our regular clothes.

Kai’s POV:

Sehun drove the van to a restaurant Baekhyun had told him about. The one Maddi and him went to a couple days ago. To be honest, I was jealous, but I know nothing was going on between them. They just wanted to get to know each other better that’s all.

Sehun parked the car and we all jumped out. Maddi told me the menus here were beautifully decorated. I learned something new about her today, she said she loved art. So do I. I wonder how I never found out.

I walked over to her and smiled, taking her hand in mine. She looked down at our hands and blushed. She was so adorable. Was I moving too fast? I don’t know and honestly I don’t care.

I heard Sehun telling the hostess that we wanted a booth for 7 people. We were seated immediately. I sat down at the end of the booth. D.O. was at the other end. In between us was Suho, Chanyeol, Baekhyun, Sehun, and Maddi in that order. Maddi was next to me of course and Suho was next to D.O.

We were handed the menus and damn was Maddi right. They were beautiful, gorgeous, amazing, and no word could compare. I wonder what Maddi’s art was like. I’d ask her when we got back to the dorm.

Maddi’s POV:

We ate such a wonderful meal together with occasional small talk. We were heading back to the dorm now. We had three days until our plane to Seoul took off, so we all got to relax. I spent most of those days with Kai and let me tell you, they were something.
