A Life I Never Knew

Chapter 4

Luna's Pov

I blink my eyes open to a white unfamiliar room with many different people standing over me also in white clothes. I hear loud beeping coming from a box that's standing next to me.

"Where the heck am I and who are all these people"?! I thought to myself my eyes wide as I search around the room I finally land on a face I recognize.

"Everyone out expect for officer Quinn" a tall man with a long white jacket said.

Now it's just Officer Quinn, the tall man and myself in the room. I look at them both but quickly avert my gaze down to my fiddling hands Officer Quinn is the first to speak.

"Dear I know this is a lot to take in but I promise you no one will hurt you here this man is Dr. Scott he can help heal your injuries. Also your stepfather can never see or touch you again he's going to jail for a very long time sweetie" he says in a soft tone and kind eyes.

It was hard processing everything he was saying what is a doctor? What is jail? I had so many questions but decided it's best just to stay quiet.

If I ask these questions he'll call me stupid and crazy like Robbie. They seem nice now but who knows when their true colors will come out. Officer Quinn continues to speak probably realizing I won't or can't respond.

"Since your mother ran away and Robbie is in prison we had to do a dna test on you to see if you had any remaining family" he said.

"My mother is dead she didn't run away and I don't have anyone else so there's no point" I thought to myself tears forming in my eyes.

"We have found your father and brothers they have agreed to take you in they should be here shorty" he says.

My neck shoots up at him I finally let out a small voice for the first time.

"F-father and brothers"? I say clearly confused.

"Yes it seems like your mother ran away with you when she was pregnant and they have been looking for you ever since" he says with a small smile.

Father? He's been looking for me? I never knew I had a father I mean I knew he existed because mother told me about him once. She never gave me any details about him neither did she mention I have brothers.

I would image him sometimes I would look out of the window and when I'd see a man I'd pretend he was my real father coming to rescue me.

Mother said that he abandoned us plus Robbie always called himself my father even though I knew he wasn't.

All this news was becoming way too much for me and I couldn't hear Officer Quinn's voice anymore his lips were moving but no sound came out.

I peaked over his shoulder and that's when I saw him standing at the door with his arms crossed glaring at me.

Why is Robbie here?! They said he was going away forever but they lied he's right here"! Tears streamed down my face and my body shook violently.

I quickly yank the covers and needles from my body and rolled off the bed onto the floor hitting the ground hard in the process.

The pain was terrible I finally realize I can't move my legs. When I looked down I see both of my legs are covered in white cloth stained with blood I remember it's the wounds he gave me.

I hear his all familiar footsteps approaching and I quickly shake off the pain and crawl under the bed. The only escape I have and I cant make it any further than this anyway. My eyes dart across the floor following his every move then I see his hands reaching out to me trying to grab me.

"NOOO! PLEASE DON'T COME HERE! I'M SORRY! I'M SORRY"! I scream and yell I had no strength to stop him I was too weak.

"How is this possible how come they just let him in"?! I cried even harder thinking I'm once again being betrayed. I feel his hands grab ahold of my waist as he drags me from under the bed.

I close my eyes tight as I scream and try to pry his hands off me I can't open my eyes I don't want to see his face anymore! My eyes are forced to open when I feel a stinging poke in my arm and everything turns hazy before I fall unconscious in his arms.

Officer Quinns Pov

"That sick bastard really did a number on this poor girl she's going to need a lot of therapy and medicine for the condition she's in" Doctor Scott said to Officer Quinn after he had to sedate Luna due to having a severe panic attack and probably a hallucination.

"We found her in a dire state I'm sure if we hadn't found her when we did she would be dead now" I say when a nurse comes in the room stating that the Russo family has arrived.

Dr. Scott and I share a look knowing who exactly these men are.

How the hell am I going to tell him that his daughter has been abused beyond imagination? I thought to myself as Dr.Scott and I made our way to face the devils themselves.
