I looked at my phone, discovering there was a message on there from Calvin.

Calvin: Guess what today is~.

Me: What?

Calvin: I'm the birthday boy :P

I stopped thinking about whatever I was thinking before, and stared at my phone screen.

Today is his birthday? Why didn't he tell me? I could have gotten something, planned a party, anything! At least it's the weekend.

Me: Why didn't you tell me, ya dimwit?

Calvin: It's not that big of a deal. It's just another day. But I'm having a party. You are coming weather you like it or not. At my house. Come as soon as you can ( ' ▽ ' )ノ

Me: Fine, fine. I'll text you when I'm on the way.

"Mom?! Can I go shopping?" I shouted downstairs.

No answer.

Damn her and her poor hearing...

I ran downstairs in pursuit to try and find my mother.

"Mom?! MOM?!"

"Shh! You're so loud! Normal teenagers are suppose to be grumpy and annoyed when they wake up."

"Would you rather me be grumpy and annoyed?"

"Carry on..."

"Can I go shopping?"

"Why?"

"It's Calvins birthday."

"WHAT? AND YOU DECIDE TO GO NOW?!"

"He just told me!"

"Oh. Well I presume so. What are you getting him?'

"Good question..."

I rushed back upstairs, and sent Calvin a text.

Me: Hey, what's your shirt size for no particular reason at all?

I mean, I'm not good at hiding things, so why try?

My phone beeped.

Calvin: I usually wear a large, but it depends on what brand. Why you ask?

Me: Like I said, for no particular reason.

I shut off my phone, to refrain from texting him again.

What kinds of shirts does he like? I suppose I could get him something else too, if anything catches my eye.

And so I was off, going to the nearby mall, and stopping by WRV.

He isn't a skater or anything, but maybe I'll find something.

I walked into the store, with blaring music coming from the speakers. I searched around for the mens section, and scouted for a few shirts. But what kind of shirts does he like? Is he picky about shirts like my dad is? Maybe I can get him a hoodie.

But, something else caught my eye.

Stance Socks.

They were beautiful, glorious. I see skaters wear them all the time, and they're pretty cute. I picked out a pair that had a galaxyish pattern to it, and set off to the mall.

I went to one of my favorite stores, and went to the mens section. I saw a variety of hoodies and sweatshirts, searching for a plain one. I saw one that had three colors, er shades I guess. the bottom was black, then went to a dark grey, and then a light grey at the top. Honestly, I would have worn it. I do have a few mens jackets that I have bought. I bought the jacket, and decided to go back home. I didn't want to spend too much, otherwise it might look weird. I might make him some food or something at home, but that was about it.

When I got home, I made him some home made chocolate chip cookies.

I think he likes these...I think we had a discussion about it one time.

My phone time read 1:43, but I wasnt worried or anything. Calvin just said to come over as soon as possible. I went to go get dressed, but it would be different today. Maybe I wouldnt wear all black like usual. I searched through my closet, to find a pinch of color, anywhere. I finally decided that I would wear my Green Day, American Idiot shirt, where it has a hard squeezing a grenade/heart thing, but in reality if you're a girl wearing it, it's squeezing your boob. Anywhos, I also wore jeans, and my signature black Converse. I told my mom that I was leaving, and went in the car.

Wait, where does he live? Why don't I know this?

Me: Hey..another question. Where do you live?

Calvin: Oh, you're finally coming? Don't worry, no ones here yet. It doesnt officially start until 4:00.

Me: Oh, should I wait then?

Calvin: DON'T YOU DARE

He told me his address, and I sped off in my car.

I reached his house in like 10 minutes. There were no other cars in front of his house except for one, which I'm assuming is his.

I walked to the front door, and knocked once. The door opened immediately, and someone grabbed my wrist and pulled me inside.

"Hey! You're here, finally."

"Sorry for trying to be timely and polite." I said, while holding out his present to him.

He stared at me, with a confused looked on his face.

"Have you never received a gift before? Anyways, Happy Birthday!"

He sighed.

"Why'd you get me something?"

"Because it's your birthday! And I care about you. Without you, I would probably still be super lonely and antisocial."

He stared at me blankly again, and pulled me into a hug.

"You didn't even look at it yet..." I said, but it was a little hard to talk, since he was squeezing me pretty hard.

"Because I appreciate the thought. It means a lot."

"Eh, I guess so." I said, while finally hugging him back.

We just stood there for a few minutes, hugging. It may sound awkward, but it was nice. Just enjoying each other's company, and being in each other's arms.

"Oh yeah..I kinda wanna see what you got me." Calvin finally said.

He let me go, and looked into the bag. He first pulled out the hoodie.

"It looks like something you would wear, but I like it. It's simple, but also has enough pattern for it not to be too plain. Good choice."

I smiled, while he took out the socks.

"Once again, it seems like your style. And I agree, space can be pretty cool."

Then, he saw the Tupperware container. He looked at me, then looked back at the container. He tore off the lid and practically stuffed his face. I don't think he even knew what was in there.

"Did you make these?" He asked me I between crunches.

"Yeah. Good?"

He nodded, and kept eating.

"You want some? You made them after all."

I reached my hand into the container, and ate a cookie.

"I can't believe you remembered my favorite type of cookie. Even if I were allergic to them, I would still eat them."

I laughed.

"I don't think they're that good, but whatever."

We continued messing around, until his party was suppose to start. I left early, because parties aren't my thing, but I still had a blast. I mostly hung out with Nick, because he was the only other person I knew, and Calvin was being showered with birthday greetings and small gifts.

But at least I know when his birthday is now, so I can shower him in love and gifts. Even if he doesn't like making a fuss over it.
